Rumor Control - LOST Game on Target
The 3D LOST game is on target, despite rumors otherwise. The game, which is built around the Crytek engine (Farcry), has actually been demonstrated to LOST producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse who were said to be pleased with what they saw.
The lack of information on the game from Ubisoft may be frustrating, and might give the impression that there is something wrong, but in reality the game still falls under the marketing umbrella of ABC/Disney. As such, it is not surprising that the grapevine has been quiet.

I can’t wait for this game to be released!

Maybe I’m overshooting, but I want something similar to Crysis, with everything destructable, very lush, amazing graphics, incredible AI…
But regardless, I’ll pick it up. It’s LOST!

Guys, I’m sorry but I can 99% guarantee that this game is going to suck. Brutally.
We already know that the game is’nt canon, so thats about half of the coolness gone right there.
And since this is on the Crysis engine, that means that what we’ll most likely be looking at is either a really pretty but insanely boring URU/Myst style puzzle game that sheds absolutley no new light on any mysteries from the show; or some kind of dumb, derivative, and rushed FPS.
I’m banking on the puzzle aspect over FPS, and unless they’ve got some kind of savants working in the puzzle development dept, thats a guaranteed suckfest for anyone who’s even remotely into video games (remember, it’s not canon, so nothing you do in the game will have any relevance or progress the mythos of Lost at all).
Snore. I’m boycotting this and all licensed games until devs stop trying to cash in on awesome movies/comics/shows by putting out dumbed down piece of shit games that steal all of their respective franchises’ thunder.
I may, however, pirate it off the net. We’ll see.
Rant over.

It wont be running on the Crytek2 engine for the first, and for the second, as it says in the text, if you read the text , it says that Damon and Carlton were pleased with what they saw. So don’t think that it’s goin to be some bad shitty game. And last the game is build with Crytek1 engine,
“The 3D LOST game is on target, despite rumors otherwise. The game, which is built around the Crytek engine (Farcry)”
Read the goddamn text before you come up with random stuffs to say..

I don’t know exactly what the difference is between Crytek 1 or 2, but I know Far Cry isn’t that good, so there that is. That’s just my opinion on that, so flame away if you want.
And just because the creators of a show say that the game is good, doesn’t mean it’s going to be. They get paid to say things like that. Hence all the shitty movie-based games out there. I remember Chris Carter saying the same thing about the Xfiles game. 24: the Game, anyone? Spider-man 3? Sheesh. And it’s not exactly as if theyd say “Well, the licensed game really sucks, so keep your eye out for it, it’ll hit stores next week!”
In closing, I don’t think any of the “stuffs” I said was particularly random at all. My biggest bitch of all was a completely factual one. I’ve seen it said (by the creators, ooooh, now you know you can take it as gospel) that the game is not canon, so guess what? Screw it!

Yeah, OMG, games based on licenses are NEVER bad! And unlike all the other cases of games based on licenses, the gaming press is quick to point out that they’ve shown an 8% complete build to the creators of the source material and they said it, “Looked good”!!!!!

My point exactly man.

Can we act like mature adults here, please, people? A reasoned, sound conversation is one thing. But the last dozen posts have been virtually nothing but ego-posturing and defensive arguing. About what? Something no one here has seen yet.
Step outside and breathe in deep. The fresh air will do you good.

Yuck.
I can imagine it now…
Play as Lock on a rampage throwing knives and at all The Others, who have suddenly multiplied into an army of hundreds for levels of gameplay! Next level Lock’s gotta blow up the army of stationary submarines with his stolen C4, before Jack sees him! OOO! Grab the chicken leftovers for health!
Play as Russo while you get to trap all the losties for fun in your boobie traps! Then after you’ve trapped them, don’t forget to blow them up with Black Rock patented dynamite! Next steal Claire’s baby and beat Ethan over the head with it! (nevermind the timeline inconsistency with the show)
[CHEAT CODE: Enter 4 8 15 16 23 42 to Play as Patchy McKyle!!! Infinite Lives!!!]
As Michael you must infiltrate the Losties camp pretending to be confused and lobotomized in a walt-less induced stupor, don’t let sayid catch on! before you get your chance to hunt down Libby and Anna-Lucia rescuing Benry from the clutches of evil hatch King Lock (make your escape before Lock blows up the hatch by not entering the numbers!). (Enemies include: The Hieroglyphics armed with crossbows, Jacks armed with Henry Gale ID cards, and Libbies armed with a pillow) As a suprise twist of an ending, you find out the Henry Gale is really Other Numero Uno, Jacob in disguise!
On the Hurley level you must eat your way through all the island Dharma supply drops before Libby finds you and tells you to go on a diet. (Enemies include: The Numbers armed with a curse, Mr. Cluck armed with Hurley Birds, Dave armed with a cheeseburger, and Cheech Marin armed with a toothpick)
The Sawyer level is the hardest one yet. Jack has stolen back Kate’s heart and Sawyer must avenge his love by stealing all the guns and shooting everyone, and then stealing all their stuff like the mean conman packrat combo he is! In the final showdown Sawyer must fight for his life in bloodbath duel vs. tagteam Tom Sawyer(Daddy Lock) himself and Danny Pickett. You are armed with a combination Chainsaw-Shotgun and riding mounted on the back of a polar bear.
As Desmond you have 108 minutes to race against time and type in The Numbers and hit “EXECUTE”, narrowly escaping death by hieroglyphics. (Enemies to avoid: Flashbacks) You will beat the game when your replacement arrives 540 days later!
Suprise suprise! Your replacement is Kate from the future! and you won’t beleive who she’s got waiting back at home (shhhh! it’s the Monster!)
