LOST’s Naveen Andrews on Esquire

Lost News — June 21, 2007 at 2:10 pm by Santa

Thanks to RJ for the tip. The dashing Naveen Andrews is appearing both in the print and web editions of Esquire this month.  I don’t know anything about the print article, but the online piece is a photo shoot called "seven bold statements."  To summarize the ‘bold’ things Naveen has to say:

  • "When I first got the premise, it was limited at best and dreadful at worst. People crashing on an island — how many possible permutations can you get out of that?"
  • "In Hollywood, it’s normal to have white men with black women, but the reverse is too threatening. It’s not an issue for me or the people I know, so everyone should fucking get with it."
  • "Tony Blair will be remembered as a liar and a hypocrite. The thing about Margaret Thatcher is she never pretended to be anything other than what she was. Blair had this odious veil of good intention and Christian piety, which was really kind of disgusting."
  • "Jimi Hendrix was the greatest guitarist who ever lived, and nobody has ever approached what he managed to do with the instrument. It was like he came from outer space."
  • "Older women know who they are, and that makes them more beautiful than younger ones. I like to see a face with some character. I want to see lines. I want to see wrinkles."
  • "I have to make money, I have to feed my kids, blah, blah, fucking blah. But I also have to live with myself."
  • "A slice of hot, buttered toast is the perfect meal. It’s not too much and not too little, and it gives you just the right buzz."
