LOST’s Dominic Monaghan Hard at Work on ‘I Sell the Dead’
No more tears for our good friend Dominic Monaghan. Not only is he negotiating to host a nature show, which I think is terrific, but he is hard at work in my other passion: the horror film industry. And how coincidental is it that he just happens to be working with Angus Scrimm, star of my all time favorite horror film ‘Phantasm.’
Dom co-stars as a legendary grave robber named Arthur Blake in "I Sell the Dead." The film marks the feature debut of Writer/Director Glenn McQuaid. Plot wise it goes something like this:
Body Snatchers Arthur Blake and Willie Grimes have pillaged their last grave. With just five hours before Arthur follows Willie to the chopping block, he recounts his life story to Fr Francis Duffy. It soon becomes clear that Blake and Grimes were no ordinary grave robbers. And through his stories the priest learns that not all corpses are equal.
I Sell The Dead is a kaleidoscope of terror that will leave you questioning life, death and what lies between. (Source http://www.isellthedead.com/)

Dom — still acting in the woods with a beard. It’s like he never left!

a little off topic here, but…
Doc,
in the last year i’ve been getting into Horror movies, and am having trouble finding good ones. I’ve watched the Saw series and The hills have eyes, but go ahead and throw me just a couple titles that i should def. see. Most horror movies i see seem to miss their mark. They just aren’t very good, but i still like the genre.
Hopefully you can give me a few good ones, like i said I just got into them this year. But figured you could come up with some pretty good ones.

Dr. Nope… I am an old fart with a penchant for the 70’s. So alot of my favorites may not resonate. Like I was watching “The Messengers” tonight with my wife and I knew I would hate it because within the first five minutes this teenage girl was complaining that her Cell didn’t work in the country. But here are some of my favorites from various time periods….
Seconds
The Exorcist
Phantasm
Invasion of the Body Snatchers (both the 50’s and the 70’s versions)
Pieces
The Burning (one of the most shocking daylight murder sequences you’ll ever see)
Dawn of the Dead (The original)
The Omega Man
The Legacy
Evil Dead
Return of the Aliens Deadly Spawn
Nightmare in a Damaged Brain
Make them die slowly
Trilogy of Terror
Frankenstein and the Monster from Hell
gosh man… I could go on forever…

The only ones on the List that i’ve seen are The Exorcist, and Dawn of the Dead, so it looks like i’ve got some material to catch up on.
