The Miracles of HDTV Reveal Spoilers!
Once again, using only the technology at hand, and the data willingly provided by ABC, I have uncovered a clue that The Misfit himself would be proud of. First of all, if you are Divx enabled you’ll enjoy this super duper HDTV version of the through the looking glass promo:

While I was in the process of encoding the video I noticed something in a few frames that didn’t leap out at me before. Click through for the spoilerish pic and all of its Implications.

When you download and watch the video pay close attention to this segment. you’ll see that Ben is behind Danielle, hands tied, and Danielle is pulling him along. Also, Alex is behind Ben. Does Ben show up without his people? Or do his people leave him? Without utilizing "The Forbidden Fruit" (and you know what I mean) give me your take on this.

WOW Doc, that’s a great find!! good thing you have good eyes, we most of us might have missed that. Maybe some how the Losties over power Ben?? hmmm

Also if you look at 0.19 you can see Desmond in the Looking Glass pointing a gun at Mikhail, I never noticed that before

And/or, could they be dragging something? I think the blonde person behind Danielle (Claire?) seems to have her hands close to Danielle’s.

I think Alex, after realizing that her momma is right there, gives her dad the big ole “f” you. In a promo you see Ben saying “shoot them” and everyone’s assuming it’s to Tom and Pryce at the beach or via a walkie talkie BUT if you watch the promo very closely you’ll see that despite the well attempted magic of editing he’s saying it to someone behind or beside him on the hilltop, most likely to Alex who we know has a gun.

It’s not Ben, it just looks like him.
I refer you to the second US trailer for the episode. The guy is clearly NOT Ben. In fact, they are in the same scene together and wearing different clothing.

Hi Rain,
Actually, I have to disagree. In the promo, this shot comes right before we see the Losties encounter the Others — but I think that’s just a bit of misleading editing. The guy that Danielle is dragging has the same basic build and hairline as Ben — and he’s wearing the same light green shirt. Also, look behind Ben — that looks an awful lot like Alex.
I think it’s safe to conclude that this scene is different — than the one that appears immediately after it in the promo. Most likely, it’s a later scene. (They do a lot of misleading editing in these promos, you know!)

I think the person behind “Ben” (beside what looks to be Claire) is Hurley, not Alex. Hurley will seemingly be keeping Claire company during this hike…

Doc, Give me my PROPS! I pointed this out to you in Doc’s finale predictions and speculations in a post right before Sterile firefly went nuts about spoilers and Dark’s site giving away to much info.

Look at the very end of 00:19. There’s a red beam of light that moves from left to right very quickly — a lot like a beam from a blaster in Star Wars.

Heres a small moment that I would like to see in the finale….
Claire meeting Alex again and remembering that she saved her. Just some Claire and Alex interaction would be nice.
I’d also like to see Ben’s reaction to Karl being alive and betraying him.
These small moments would make the finale for me.

They *do* mislead a lot in the promos, man. Gets me almost every time, too!
I totally call that Jack isn’t saying “I love you” to Kate like they made it look like in the promo too. I showed it to my friend, and we both came to the conclusion that it was all editing. I think it actually looks like pretty *bad* editing, too.
See, this is the kind of tantalising spoiler I *love*. Can’t *wait* to see how all this plays out!!! Thanks doc, for the HD version. If I had a beard, this would be the point that I would stroke it and say, “very, veeeeeery interesting.”
I just want to see Rousseau and Alex meet and realise that they are mother & daughter! If that happens, I’ll pee myself with joy. That’s a moment I’ve been looking forward to for a very, very long time.

ive had it with dark’s website. I havent read the season finally spoilers and every forum i go into to comment on screencaps, etc.. they mention how it relates to the spoilers and what is really happening…GRRRR. Im just going to crawl into a hole until the season finale is aired.

The only reason I’m over there is because apparently there’s *more* spoilers to ruin *more* things for us, and there’s a poll to vote whether or not they should be posted, and on the off chance there might be something I can do to help stop it, I’m there.
It’s not so much the people who are doing it *purposely* anymore, but the ones who just *assume* everyone’s read them. Every time something has been spoiled for me, it’s been by people making that assumption. I am so beyond the point of frustration. But I’m not going to get off the internet, because if I do that, the “rotten apple”s doc referred to in his other post - they WIN.

You can see “Ben” more clearly a couple about 10 seconds into the promo still walking behind Danielle. His shirt is more yellow than Ben’s and his hair is darker and I’d venture to say he’s quite a bit taller than Mr. Emerson. I think the directors or producers just love doing that kind of casting, to throw even more confusion into the mix.
When we first met the Others at the beginning of the season, everyone swore up and down that Michael was one of the guards at the Hydra station. Turned out to be an extra that looked a lot like him. The women that are holding Charlie in the Looking Glass are another perfect example. Before the blonde woman with the rifle came into full frame she looked like a dead ringer for Jack’s ex-wife (Julie Bowen), she turned out not to be a few seconds later of course. And too top it off, the gun-weidling woman coincidentally like Sawyer’s baby mama Cassidy (it’s not though after further inspection).
Shockingly the people who make Lost are once again clouding the overall picture and raising suspicions.

I just did a step by step look into the promo again and concluded the same thing. it just so happens those people look alot like : Ben, cassidy, ETC. they must LOOOVE to do that.lol. I am so anticipating the season finale though…i think and i hope, Ben get’s his this time around, lol.

…and I have to agree that I don’t think that’s Ben, Doc. If you look at the very next shot, the closeup of Jack and Danielle, with what I assume is Ben’s shoulder in the foreground, you see a dude behind Danielle with that same shirt on. Hairline looks a little different as he is looking toward the ground, but pretty sure that’s the guy in the wide shot.

After watching the vid at -10x speed, and also frame-by-frame, I’m thinking that sadly is not Ben. Maybe it’s an other that they have taken prisoner although that doesn’t really vibe with “we’re gonna blow em all to hell”.

It is Ben. You’ll notice that the guy in the wide shot has a bloody nose and no facial hair while the guy seen in the next shot behind Jack and Danielle has a goatee.

It is likely Ben. That can’t be Hurley, it must be Alex. Obviously Alex has a much narrower face than Hurley. If it is not Ben and Alex, then it is just background 815ers.

Coming to have to say it’s not ben. The clothes don’t match. He could just be carrying something, I don’t think there’s enough film to conclusively say his hands are bound.

I took it into Windows Movie Maker (ya, not too hi-tech but…) and played with the clip of what looks like Ben being dragged just before they MEET Ben and slowed it, etc.
I think it’s Ben. 99% sure it’s Ben. Recall the promo for “Greatest Hits”, they play with the editing. I think they want us to know that Ben is captured.

Listen closely.
The scences of Ben meeting Jack and the gang and the scence of him being tied up happen in reverse of the way they are presented in the preview.
Ben is taken by Jack, and used as leverage to keep Sayid, Jin, and Bernard alive.

I think it’s Ben, too. His hands are pretty clearly bound (much easier to see if you actually watch it) and the clothes match. They of course edit it to make it look like this is a shot from just before they meet up with Ben, but the lighting looks different to me between the two scenes.
