I wanted to at least see locke in that episode

God, even though the spoilers should have ruined it, I still thoroughly enjoyed the episode. There were a few great/funny moments, and lots of sad moments.
Can’t wait until next week.

I CAN”T WAIT!!! looks good, although i wish no one would die…..hand me a kleenex someone…but seriously, my heart is racing, i think i’m having an anxiety attack….I KID I KID

Blah. Just saw you added those pics.
Mikhail being there doesn’t bode well for the spoilers being foilers.
Bummer.

All the Jaters just died… including me.
Comment by Cassie — May 16, 2007 @ 8:37 pm
Alright - my man Desmond coming down to save Charlie! I haven’t read any spoiler / foilers but I had to comment on the preview. I hate that Sayid is captured with Bernard and Jin - as I see from the photo; still looking for so a** whooping to happen. Ben is such a worm, why was Alex’s hand all bloody? Oh yes - I can’t wait, but I will. Looking forward to next week!
Comment by Rackee — May 16, 2007 @ 8:39 pm
Don’t go just yet….maybe, Maybe, someone will shoot Ben before he kills anyone, YAY!!
Comment by LiLi — May 16, 2007 @ 8:39 pm
Looks like that is Mikhail on the shore, probably forces Desmond to go into the station. Looks like a spear gun that Desmond has. Interesting stuff. The spoilers gave nothing about Des being in the station with Mikhail. So there is still plenty of life in there!
Comment by docarzt — May 16, 2007 @ 8:40 pm
Who is on the beach in the final still? I think it’s Sayid because the figure has a sleeveless shirt on.
I think in the still with Desmond his gun is smoking.
Comment by kkty — May 16, 2007 @ 8:42 pm
The spoilers also made reference to Hurley and Sawyer killing some Others when they first come at night…it looks like the Others are alive and the only people on the beach are Bernard, Sayid and Jin.
Comment by Colin — May 16, 2007 @ 8:43 pm
i think lostfan108 was WRONG…. here’s why….. MINOR spoilers………….
how would Locke attempt to “kill himself” when Ben gave Alex the only weapon he had?! and he also gave NO mention of Sayid, Bernard and Jin being captured…. ALSO… it shows that Tom and Ryan are still alive and well, while it LOOKS like Sawyer is off with Jack on his way to the tower… and Locke killing Naomi?! wouldnt it be in front of everyone if he did?! i guess i just hope the spoiler is wrong, so this is the stuff i noticed….
Comment by Monk — May 16, 2007 @ 8:47 pm
FUCK YOU !!!! LOSTFAN108

Comment by LML — May 16, 2007 @ 8:50 pm
The “I Love You” might not be directed at Kate. Could just be the editors having some fun.
Comment by NickC — May 16, 2007 @ 8:56 pm
this episode was only second to nikki and paulo’s lame story in its awfulness.
nothing was revealed, nothing really happened until the last 3 minutes, and the backstory was simply pointless.
i grow impatient
Comment by roger — May 16, 2007 @ 8:57 pm
looks like those of us on the shenanigans list might have been right…
…so were you in on it Doc?
Comment by wedestroymyths — May 16, 2007 @ 8:57 pm
LOSTFAN108 was correct.
Here is why… SPOILERS AHEAD!!
Everything he said about Greatest Hits was correct.
He stated Sawyer and Hurley will be back at camp. But in Greatest Hits we see them go with Jack but guess what.. who is going to save the 3 that is obviously tied up in the promo? It all makes sense.
Also Mikhali down in the Looking Glass Hatch in the promo also confirms it even more.
I for one didnt try to read the spoilers at first but because of some comments I was forced into some of the things going down next week sadly. *sigh* Ruined a years (season) of the show for me.
Comment by Boss — May 16, 2007 @ 8:58 pm
Alex’s hands were bloody because she was skinning a rabbit. Karl said to Alex, “I thought you were bringing a rabbit” when they met in the jungle outside the “cave”.
Comment by AlaineA — May 16, 2007 @ 9:02 pm
I’ll give you those points…but there also appears to be a picture of Desmond in the hatch, pointing a gun…that could throw a potentially big wrench in LOSTFAN’s spoilers regarding Charlie…also, who’s to say the 3 tied up get rescued?
could it be possible that all we know about the deaths has been foiler?
Comment by wedestroymyths — May 16, 2007 @ 9:03 pm
Not to mention Hurley and Sawyer went with the rest of the camp to the Radio Tower…unless they go back and save Jin, Sayid, and Bernard. I think you’re right about the war between the others being downplayed Doc.
Comment by Muscle_Bob_Buff_Pants — May 16, 2007 @ 9:05 pm
Ben says that he did everything for the island.
Why do have a feeling Locke will mess up again like he always does?
Comment by detective — May 16, 2007 @ 9:05 pm
I still think that the spoilers were foilers, go shenanigans!!! hahaha.
Comment by LiLi — May 16, 2007 @ 9:07 pm
“could it be possible that all we know about the deaths has been foiler?”
That would rock. But I have to see past everything being foilers because of the detail that was given about Greatest Hits and it being factual. :\
Comment by Boss — May 16, 2007 @ 9:07 pm
So because it didn’t reveal anything it wasn’t a good episode? What about all the emotion in the episode? Doesn’t the fact that Charlie willingly sacrifices himself, or him giving his ring to Aaron which Claire doesn’t see and leaves it there, never to be seen again, do anything for you? Why do you need answers all the time for the show to be enjoyable when it’s the mysteries of the show that got you hooked and when the finale is 1 week away which will answer some of the bigger questions.
Comment by Nico — May 16, 2007 @ 9:08 pm
What do you mean?
Comment by LiLi — May 16, 2007 @ 9:08 pm
I can’t say why, but I’m most looking forward to (what appears to be) Desmond coming to Charlie’s rescue.
Maybe when he woke Charlie’s willingness to accept his apparent death changed something within Desmond. He could reject the idea that anything is truly fated to happen. After all, he did knowingly change the future when he saved Charlie on the way to the parachutist (as far as we know.)
And if Charlie was “destined” to die by being hit by lightning, then by drowning while saving Claire, then by crashing against the rocks and finally by Rouseau’s trap, how can he be “destined” to die by drowning in the Looking Glass?
Hopefully Desmond sees this?
As someone who doesn’t believe in destiny or fate, it would be very cool for me, anyway. (Plus, Desmond and Charlie are two of my favorite characters.)
Comment by Random Zombie — May 16, 2007 @ 9:10 pm
Sawyer didn’t go to the radio tower. He went somewhere with Juliet. They’re probably on a secret mission or something.
Comment by detective — May 16, 2007 @ 9:11 pm
Where did Sayid get the schematics for the Looking Glass? Did he swipe them from the Flame station? Think I missed something along the way…
Comment by Matt — May 16, 2007 @ 9:12 pm
I think lostfan108 was telling the truth.
Sawyer went somewhere with Juliet. There was a spoiler that Juliet tells Ben she hates him, so if she went to the Others’ camp with Sawyer it would explain why Sawyer shoots Tom.
Also, Hurley refused to go to the tower. He told Charlie that he was tired of trekking. He could have gone to find the van.

Yeah! lostfan108 was totally wrong! He must have just had info on tonight…but all the things he said for the finale are pretty much wrong, as Hurley and Sawyer aren’t at the camp.
Comment by Greg — May 16, 2007 @ 9:23 pm
If Sawyer and Hurley are not at the camp then he might have been telling the truth.
What I meant when I said that Locke will mess up is that he might do something stupid and while Ben is protecting the island, Locke will once again do something that will make him say “I was wrong”.
Comment by detective — May 16, 2007 @ 9:29 pm
Yes, i figured that’s what do you meant, but what do you suppose he does? you think Ben is the “good” guy?

The trailer disproves lostfan108.
Comment by Muscle_Bob_Buff_Pants — May 16, 2007 @ 9:39 pm

Doc, I cannot believe that you have not thought of this one yet. Juliet is still playing spy for The Others. The new station has nothing to with the other. The women in there were just washed up Dharma girls. She sent them there as a distraction to keep people minds on getting off of the island and not on stopping The Others. That is why Jack tells Kate I love you next week.
Comment by Jimmy — May 16, 2007 @ 10:21 pm

Based on what I saw tonight (including previews for the finale), I remain firmly on the SHENANIGANS list. I think the spoiler info for this episode was on the money, but I think the spoiler info on the finale is off the mark and fabricated to mislead. What I saw in the previews for the finale seems to contradict the supposed spoilers.
It is interesting to me that Charlie previously claimed he can’t swim but now is a champion swimmer. Is this the result of time meddling? I don’t think this is a stupid error (D’Oh!) on the part of the writers.
Was the day Charlie saved Sayid’s love interest the same day Desmond intervened and recognized Charlie? Perhaps Desmond WILL be the one to save Charlie and we’ve all been foiled.
SHENANIGANS!

Comment by Sara — May 16, 2007 @ 10:52 pm
i think this spoiler talk could all be a really awesome foiler. here is my reasoning.
1. lostfan108 has is the type that falls for fake fan made lost sites where they mispell darma or something of that nature.
2. how would such a guy be able to get such great secrets to the finale when they fall for fake websites?
3. how amazing would it be to spoil an entire episode where nothing really climatic happened, there were no major secrets, no major mythology. This makes us all say “hey maybe this finale spoiler is right, and blam, its a total fake.
if it is not a fake i am really dissapointed from what i have seen. very uncreative in my opinion compared to the overal arc of work.
Comment by k.b. — May 16, 2007 @ 10:54 pm
As awesome as it would be to go to the finale and find out this was a foiler all along, for my current peace of mind as well as the masses if someone could step up and verify this as being false for sure I would sleep much better at night. Id say Lost really does mean that much, as its my favorite piece of entertainment all time and thats not a stretch at all. I hardly even watch TV.

I hope Locke doesn’t have another “Oopsie”, i don’t think the island could withstand another of his catastrophies. Please John, stop blowing shit up what dont need exploding.

Comment by LiLi — May 16, 2007 @ 11:21 pm
On the CTV clip a few questions came to mind:
1) Who didn’t hit the dynamite for the third explosion and why didn’t they hit it?
2) Who was running through the forest and why?
My guess is Bernard for both but I don’t know why he was running in the forest.
Comment by Mossy — May 16, 2007 @ 11:22 pm
In my opinion Mossy, i think that someone spots the explosives, so they ( Bernard, Sayid & JIN)run through the forest to escape…..
Comment by LiLi — May 16, 2007 @ 11:28 pm
since all three shooters are shown being held captive, i’d say the reason for the third shit not being fired is, they got… captured? I don’t know, ten of the finest, fittest island dwellers against an Arab, a Korean and a geriatric dentist. Sounds like the begining of an awful joke.
Someone probably runs away, but is caught because he is a geriaric dentist. Or maybe someone else gotta run through the jungle, like to tell Ben “hey guy, we caught the Arab, the Korean and some geriatric dentist. Also, all of the others are over there… go be spooky.”
Comment by Cheshire Ben — May 16, 2007 @ 11:35 pm
Yo, can we chill with the spoiler talk. Continuing to list (not everyone did) the spoilers that some infantile mama’s boy decided to tell the world about(probably some “Heroes” crusader) is only perpetuating his pathetic evening of fun. If anyone else decides to get in on it, then all I can say is there’s a world outside your door. There’s people to talk to and places to interact in an actual 3 dimensional plane of existence. Find some actual enjoyment out there, and stop being a f@#!ing loser…
Comment by cap10tripps — May 16, 2007 @ 11:41 pm
Whatever happens I think Locke and Jacob are gonna come and show everyone the real power of the island and all the rules will change when Locke is in control of the island’s secrets.
Comment by Mossy — May 16, 2007 @ 11:42 pm
I agree. This is a turning point for Locke, as he grows into this new role of mystical crusader. Sure he made a few mistakes, doubted his purpose when its clear (to us at least) that fate has arranged his life to put him on this island so he could learn its secrets and heal the world. Or blow a bunch of shit up and learn how to play soccer again. eitherway, i can’t wait for that aspect of the story to unfold.
Comment by Cheshire Ben — May 16, 2007 @ 11:51 pm
By the way, my rant is directed at anyone who wants to ruin our enjoyment of the final episodes of the season (not to those discussing the spoilers that were already thrown out there), but I am asking everyone to please discuss without actually listing the spoilers. I think I speak for many others when I say that I want the twists to smack me square in the face next Wednesay after 10pm est. Doc, maybe you could make a forum for those who want to really disect those spoilers. You do a great job with keeping your spoilers hidden, thus forcing me to click if I want to read it. I want to discuss LOST this week without having to skillfully dodge everyone’s spoiler blogs…

First off,
IMO the LostFan108 “spoiler” is totally SHENANIGANS!
But I just wanted to point out to all those people discrediting Locke not killing himself because Ben took Lock’s Gun. I would like to point out that when Locke Turned to around right before Ben shoot him he had his knife in his hand.
Comment by Bob Bob — May 17, 2007 @ 12:47 am
I think its crazy to write off the spoilers from lostfan1018 based off of twenty seconds of quickly edited together scenes and shots in which we have no idea what is really going on, where its going on and at what time its going on. This just seems to be people in extreme denial about the spoilers. While there might be some shots in the preview which seem to discredit parts of the spoilers, lets remember that the spoilers didnt outline the entire episode it just gave some key details and outcomes. so just because there are shots in the preview which were not mentioned does not mean that they are not in the episode.
For every shot in the preview that someone finds discredits the spoilers im sure there are two shots which lend credit to them. Right now, like it or not, i think most open-minded people have to realize that there is a hell of alot more evidence suggesting the spoilers are true then suggesting the’re false.

Comment by Shano — May 17, 2007 @ 2:58 am
Here’s a question–my apologies if it’s already been asked: Dharma and/or the Others can build a sizeable underwater station that will support at least two people for so long that no one has been there as long as Juliette has been on the Island, but they can’t hide the cable better than laying it on the jungle floor, burying it a couple of inches deep in the sand, and letting it play loose through the water? Silly.
But still, the new hatch itself has me gagging for more.

thinking about it couldn’t they have come up with a better reason for them ti invade the camp ther then we are going to take the pregnant woman, i mean they never even elaborated on why they want them, yeah we know because they “want to do experiments on them and so on, but from what i’ve seen of lost hardly seems a reason to invade a camp over, seems a bit perverse in a way, doesn’t fit ther bill if you need pregnant woman that bad you’d have thought they’d be kidnapping them somewere in the south pacific
Comment by nickk — May 17, 2007 @ 4:53 am
they’ve definitely tried to write this story line into lost as a means of explaining what all the kidnapping was about in season 1,like i said before hardly seems like a justified reason to hang charlie from a tree, and i think this was the best they could do for the reason of why they took clair, thats why thy took charlie as well at first because they didn’t know were they were going with tis story line, with heinsight they’d just of took claire, would have fiited in with the story line a lot better!

The way I remember it, Charlie hesitated going in the water back in “White Rabbit” as if something had traumatized him to keep him from swimming, not because he couldn’t swim. Didn’t he say “I don’t swim”? And to finish Jack’s line, “I love you, Hurley, but you’re not getting my Dharma Light!”

What I see in the screencaps:
A bald guy is holding a gun, while Tom and Pryce look at him. Looks like Locke to me. I think Locke is going to save them? Maybe/Maybe not.
So, Desmond must go get the crossbow that about killed Charlie and heads down to the “Hatch”.
Patchie gets hit, what else is new?
Someone is waiting for Desmond or Charlie when they come back from the hatch.
I wonder who is yelling “Stay away from the tents!”
Who is the cobra? Someone warned Tom and Pryce about the explosives, sounds like a male voice.
Where is the spoiler about Charlie being in the bed with two women in Finland?

Ok, my boyfirend came up with an interesting thought after watching the episode last night.
He seems to think its a Prison Colony of sorts.
Far fetched to me, with EVERYTHING else going on on the island. But all these people were flying from Australia….. which back in the day used to be a prison colony.
Just a thought to throw out there.

What the fuck? I couldn’t even get two posts in this thread before people started rehashing spoilers! I’m pretty much spoiler free except for the dickhead who wrote about Jack’s flashback the other day. Guess where I saw that? The comments section on this website.
How am I supposed to make fun of the psuedo-intellectual, legendarilly redundant theories that all you idiots post? Maybe some of you self important retards should read the other posts rather than shout from the rooftops that you’ve solved lost, only to discover that 100 other people already came up with that. Goddamn, I miss the days of Lions With Machine Guns!
Comment by Higdon — May 17, 2007 @ 6:43 am
Very interesting theory over at IMDB.
It’s being theorized that The Looking Glass station is actually there to transport people to and from the island. The sub has been hinted to be another ruse so what if the sub is only used to transport people from the station to the dock? Why did Juliet have to be unconscious for the trip to the island? What’s so intense? Transporting instantly is intense thats what…

If I had to guess at this point, I would say lostfan108’s “spoilers” are a very clever foiler. There is nothing in the spoilers he gave that can’t be somehow deduced from the trailers, and we all know those have been so terribly misleading before.
Doc has posted lots of spoilers on this site, and always hinted that they may or may not be true. But THIS spoiler he not only “confirmed” but was angry it was posted. A very clever game being played here, releasing the info, then using people with scene-connections to convince us they’re real.
I sure hope this is the case, and if so, kudos to Doc.
Comment by icyone — May 17, 2007 @ 7:34 am
If the spoilers are true although i’m hoping they are not, then the reason Jack was saying I Love you in that way in the preview was because it takes place in the flash forward and is directed at kate when she meets up with him but she doesn’t like him anymore. I’m not sure if at the present time he would actually say that to Kate or Juliet.
The possible big Kate reveal is that in the flashforward she has now had Sawyers baby (after having sex in the cage) and are possibly still together.

I want to be engaged in the discussion, but I can only skim over the posts to remain spoiler-free. This is so aggrevating.

Previews prove lostfan108’s season finale spoiler is a fake. YESS!!! I KNEW IT!!! SHENNNNNNANNNNNNNIGANS!!!

Good luck Cap10..I’m with you….This board has been taken over by the “hostiles”…Their battle cry is Shenanigans….That word along with “shippers” are the reason I’m phasing myself out of these forums….Idiotic, non theory based commentary is available at ABC.com…Go back from which you crawled, lunatics…
Comment by El Prez — May 17, 2007 @ 8:49 am
I totally agree with you Capt10. I too have managed to remain unspoiled…having to very carefully skim these discussions and look away when they start moving toward spoilers. Would love to read and participate in discussions and speculations from an unspoiled perspective…but I’m afraid to even attempt for fear that anything I say would prompt a reply from someone who has read the spoilers with information contained in them. It’s really going to be a very tough week ahead.
Comment by gusteaux — May 17, 2007 @ 8:50 am
Seriously. Are you retarded? Don’t even talk about spoilers. I think that it pretty clear what everyone’s saying. If you had even the intelligence of an ape on heroin you would have found a way to filter out your “big reveal” without potentially giving anything away.
Comment by Steeeeve — May 17, 2007 @ 9:04 am
I was thinking, in last nights episode, why do you think Russoe decided to help the losties ? didn’t she say in a few previous episodes that she wasn’t going to their (the other’s) camp because that the reason she had been avoiding them, to avoid trouble? but now she’s smacked in the middle of the whole ordeal….?
Comment by LiLi — May 17, 2007 @ 10:21 am
Your comment needs to be removed. It really does spoil everything for everyone else. At least other “spoiler” parts in this blog have not been as revealing as this one.
Comment by EE — May 17, 2007 @ 10:21 am
I AGREE - I DON’T WANT TO READ SPOILERS!
I’d like to have discussions about the episodes and talk about theories, but I don’t want to know in advance what’s going to happen. If this continues, I’m going to have to stop visiting this site.
Is there a way to add a new REFERS TO SPOILERS checkbox to the Post Comments form? Then maybe the comment could be routed to an alternate thread, or at least autogenerate a SPOILERS alert message.

Seriously guys. The spoilers are real. I know that you are desperately clinging on to them not being real in hopes for a surprise.. but there will be none. Lostfan108 spoiled it for us and that is that. ABC is furious, they contacted AICN who is facing severe repurcussions. the new forum board- lookingglassstation.com even has ABC commenting on the boards to take down the site… ABC would not be this mad if it was bs.
Also- both Kristin from Ask Kristin and Michael Aussiello who have both seen the finale are telling their viewers to stay away from spoiler sites.. they wouldnt care if they visted them if they new they werent true… as fun as it is to try and declare schenanigans lostfan108’s information is there.
As far as the bits he left out are concerned… yes im sure he left out some stuff, (jack saying i love you to someone) his spoiler was more big picture overview than scene by scene description i.e- insiderscoop..
Let it rest, besides- I’m betting those that were spoiled still probably enjoyed greatest hits last night.. it is the acting, direction, music and visuals that make lost a great show and those cant be illustrated in plain text on a website.

Damn good episode though. Even though I was spoiled before hand, it didn’t ruin my enjoyment in the slightest bit. I’ve never been the biggest fan of the Charlie/Claire relationship, but it was done well tonight. Very well. Especially when Charlie wrote down that meeting Claire was the best moment in his life. Nice!
Comment by The Climaxan — May 17, 2007 @ 10:49 am
Honestly, I dont think even lostfan meant to completely spoil the episode. There are obviously gaps in the information he gave us and i can gurantee you he knows about those gaps.. (desmond being in the looking glass..) I stand with the belief that he just wanted people to know about the game changer and some of the other relevant stuff to feed their addiction.

Obviously there is still 1 or more traitors among them. Jack mostly likely made a deal with ben if he could arrange a trade of all the castaways for his and someones elses freedom off the island. What a deal, everyone including the troublesome danielle all led right into a trap laid out at the tower. Only thing though, they forget about Locke. His sudden appearance will be certain to undermine bens leadership immediately. Richard and co. will listen to Locke instead. One thing, this ship they speak of i’m certain is research vessel owned by the others. It was sent to check up on the island since communications had suddenly halted because of the e.m.p. pulse from the swan station. Jacks idea of freedom off the island may in fact be imprisonment on this ship. We shall see.

I sincerely hope that lostfan is wrong, not because I want to be surprised (or I wouldn’t read spoilers) but because I wasn’t impressed. With all the hype (its been all D&L could talk about for weeks, with their code words and phrases) I was truly expecting some REALLY ballsy plot. I had hoped the “game-changer” would have really been a game-changer, but instead I could only go “Oh, that’s quaint.”
Lost, some time ago, was a show that demonstrated it was willing to twist television storytelling on its ear and challenge your expectation. The season finales of 1 and 2 were some of the best hours of television in recent memory. I really want this finale to blow me away, but even if I hadn’t been spoiled, I doubt I would be even mildly shocked.
Cross my fingers I was duped by a foiler.

Hey, what you said about Mikhail is true (patchy). However, i think that particular trailer is done by editing. It at no point actually shows Desmond in the same room as Mikhail. He could have been pointing that harpoon at anyone, but with careful editing they make it look like Mikhail. I could be wrong and it could be Mikhail but my money is on careful and smart editing. Well done editors
Comment by Krames — May 17, 2007 @ 12:03 pm
Well, you could be right on the whole Mikhail thing, but there was a red light on his face so it looks like he could have been in The Looking Glass. Regarding the person that fell in the water, I say it is Des.

OKAY I HAVE A BIG QUESTION…
IF the whole point of the looking glass was to get the thing shut off so that they could make their radio signal, instead of sacrificing their lives to go in and turn a switch off, why not just CUT THE WIRE that’s on the beach? Isn’t that the power supply to the station? Cut that and you got your signal… hm…

God I hope you’re right. If I lose my Charlie I couldn’t stomach losing my Sayid as well. I know it’s just a tv show and all, obviously I wouldn’t die myself but it would just kill the series for me.
I became interested in LOST b/c of LOTR and Dominic, HUGE Dom fan here. Then I adored Sayid and the story and everything. But Charlie and Sayid are my personal favorites. So if I have to lose one, I don’t want to lose the other.
And is anyone else freaking sick and tired of the Others coming out on top? This is exactly like last seasons ending, the others in control. I WANT to see the Losties kick a little ass, I WANT to see Ben knocked down several pegs and I am DESPERATE for Sayid to live, lol.

Josh asked the question, ‘why not just CUT THE WIRE that’s on the beach? Isn’t that the power supply to the station? Cut that and you got your signal… hm…’
Sayid points out on the map he has that the looking glass station’s cable you speak of isn’t a power cable but an anchor cable.
The way I see it, LOST is about to change up a gear again.
I believe Ben was mistakenly chosen by Richard and the other original inhabitants, as someone with a special gift. I also believe they hoped or expected Ben to be able to hold commune with Jacob, and as Ben soon found out that in fact they had made a mistake he began to lie to them all about his powers and his abilities to talk to their ultimate leader. For all these years they have believed they were taking guidance from Jacob, spoken through Ben when it’s just simply been Ben pretending and leading/lying to them.
Then out of no where, comes Locke. The real gift who they all thought has been Ben for all these years is actually Locke, and he can talk to Jacob. That

That’s a good point. As much as I’ve always found Locke to be the most interesting of our castaways, he’s also the most selfish. All of Locke

Comment by Dusk — May 18, 2007 @ 6:37 am
Here’s a non-spoiler question/theory for you. Given all the strong symbolism the show likes to get into, my wife made what I think is a great comment/prediction. We all saw Alex cleaning a rabbit to bring food for Karl. While perhaps a reach, the fact that “the rabbit done died…” could be our first hint that Alex is pregnant…that oughta put another bee in Ben’s bonnet…
I have also been convinced for quite some time that the ture way others (ala Juliet) are brought to the Island is via teleportation…now we know where they arrive and are loaded onto the sub to complete the last (short) leg of the trip. This would play into all the black hole speculation as well. Wormholes/Black Holes dont have to equate to dimensional travel…could “simply” be a means of teleportation…
Comment by Azathoth — May 18, 2007 @ 9:39 am
makes me think of the RTS “Black & White.”
Perhaps these “holes, dimensional hops, time-loops, etc….” are just references to literary devices…. Sounds like one good book….
“the lost island” by Van Cleef.
Comment by enigmaticdragon — May 18, 2007 @ 10:35 am
I believe the aspect of ‘time’ will play some part in the story of Lost, but not in the Sci-Fi way people are proposing.
We’ve almost had three seasons of Lost, and not once have these extremely complex theories of time travel or inter dimensional teleportation etc ever been touched upon. In truth the show’s never come close to that level of science fiction, not once.
Why have the ‘Lost’ been told that not only has their plane been found intact, but their bodies were actually still on the plane. To me the explanation for these events is a lot simpler, and it you look for the news report of the Oceanic flight 815 discovery within the online ‘Lost experience’ it does mention it there. It has nothing to do with time travel, or falling through a dimensional hole etc, but a plane was simply placed there to hide the fact the passengers are still missing. The bodies on the plane were discovered by an independent deep sea diving crew, and ‘for the sake of the families’, the footage the crew filmed of the passengers was never shown only the hull of the plane and Oceanic logo. As far as we know, those bodies are still within the plane deep at the bottom of the ocean waiting to be recovered. The real mystery is who put the fake plane down there, and why don’t they want the passengers and more importantly the ‘Island’, found?
The submarine is just that. A submarine. There’s no real secrete of how Dharma traveled back and forth from the Island. The only secret is how and why they found it in the first place and why ‘they’ still don’t want anyone else to discover it? I believe Naomi, is working for the new rebuilt Dharma Initiative. We now know that the ‘Others’ are the original island natives and have nothing to do with Dharma, and only after the ‘purge’ did they take residence within the Dharma complex and make use of their technology.
There’s also the rumor of a third group of people living on the island, deep within the volcanic caves. Who are they? Perhaps they are the few surviving members of the original Dharma Imitative? Hiding out after escaping the ‘purge’ from the hostiles all those years ago. That is where I believe Ben will find his childhood sweetheart, still alive. Remember the girl who befriended the shy reclusive young Ben we saw in the flash back? The girl who

You know, at this point it’d almost be better to propose that those of us who *don’t* want to be inadvertantly spoiled mark our posts with “NON-SPOILER” or something. At least that way we’d know for sure what’s safe and what isn’t. I’ve been trying desperately to avoid the spoilers, but reading through the comments and *not* seeing them is almost impossible. I’ve only seen two or three little bits, but it’s still enough to piss me off. This is the type of show that gets me with my nose pressed to the screen, screaming at the TV because the writers have just succeeded in blowing my mind once more. That is what I want, and the more I try to read these discussions, the further and further away I’m getting from that. I can’t *live* a week without Lost, which is why I read through these discussions. I’ve never commented before, because I didn’t feel I had anything else to add, and I know everyone is saying this, but for some reason it’s not getting through. I’m not just referring to the comments on this page, it’s everywhere! This site is the only one I trust enough to visit right now, and I’m still being spoiled even though I really, really, REALLY don’t want to be. Please guys, for the love of god. Don’t deprive me of intelligent discussion about Lost because you’re too lazy (or whatever the reason) to use a spoiler tag.

i think after days/weeks (months…years?) of probly no men and probly eating only fish, they’re quite angry and they are going to take it all out on little charlie. not too mention, they probly figure he’s an other being he didnt get down there by submarine. this of course if they are dharma left overs………..
Comment by spikedmilk — May 18, 2007 @ 12:13 pm
The two women in the looking glass are not ‘others’
I do not believe that the others would torture or have any need to tie Charlie to a chair, they would be fully aware of who he is and probably be uninterested in what he was doing there.
From the preview, the brief snatch of them with Charlie seems more akin to how the losties would treat a captured other.

No worries, wasn’t you. I actually found your posts pretty thought-provoking
I’m referring to those who are talking about the finale spoilers that may or may not be true without warning. I don’t want to get in a debate about all that, but *I* believe from the actions I’ve seen taken that they are true, and therefore don’t want to read them without spoiler warnings.
And I wasn’t targeting anyone in particular, just making a generalized statement. So nobody feel guilty or anything, sorry if I was harsh, it was supposed to be more of a *plea* than anything.
Love to everyone, and keep those awesome theories and discussions going!!!

I read the game-changing spoiler.
At first i wanted to cry.
But now i’m all hyped to actually see it, and there’s still many… MANY other events on the island that i don’t know which way they’re going to go.
With the big series spoiler anyway, more questions are still raised than are answered. In a way i’m glad i read it so that i can analyse this episode more thouroughly with that information in mind.
Nonetheless thanks for the screencaps Doc, keep up the hard work no matter what people are saying at the moment; i come to this site knowing that i’m going to get a great insight without getting spoiled greatly and i respect you for that. Keep it up over the hiatus and for the Lost series run-in.
