CBS’s Loss is ABC’s Gain?
Thanks to Jeff for this information. There was some news in CBS’s up fronts that may have a significant impact on some Season Four casting. If you are especially sensitive to spoilers, you might want to avoid this, even though the rumor has been circulating for some time. If you have tasted the forbidden fruit of a certain set of recent spoilers, it may give some context as to how certain issues of aging might be dealt with.
Even though LOST is an ABC show, CBS’s upfronts held some interesting news for fans of the island drama. Harold Perrineau, who played Michael on LOST, was set to costar in the proposed series "Demons" about rogue priests on a road trip to destroy evil. When it was reported that Perrineau had been approached to rejoin the cast of LOST for its fourth season, Perrineau initially declined due to his commitments to the CBS show, which at the time was still in development. As it turns out, Demons is not being picked up by CBS. Could this mean an announcement on Perrineau returning to LOST will be coming soon?

I hope so. I feel like we are missing so many answers as it relates to him and walt

Doc I’ve been trying to track you down all over the place from Dark’s page to here and back to myspace.
You sparked my interest with this annoucement, can you just give a hint on what it involves?
I think Michael will be back for season 4.

WAHOO!!!!!!!!!! i want Mike and walt back! Libby deserves justice.

I don’t mind Walt coming back, but come on, Michael? He was the most annoying character for 2 years…. “My Son, My Son, My Son!” Please, don’t let him come back. If he has to show up to bring Walt back, kill him quickly. I’d take any of the dead characters over Michael.

>”My Son, My Son, My Son!” Please, don’t let him come back.
I agree. HOWEVER, what I would like to see (and close that plot for good), is to see a flashback of WALT, of what happened before/after he left with his father in the boat. At the end of the flashback, I would like to see Michael die, and Walt returning to the island.
So I think that Michael returning for 1 episode explaining what happened to them, it would be cool. But for more than that, I am not sure.
BTW, DocArzt: the comment’s form does not remember my details (even if I check the checkbox and my cookies are enabled).

I loved Harrold’s work on OZ and I still think Michael killing Anna Lucia and Libby was the biggest shock on Lost.
Now that things have played out somewhat, and we get a few more people killed, it will be a good thing for him to come back. His and Walt’s story is far from finished. We need to learn what happened when they left, and what did they do to Walk when the Other’s had him.

Its hard to post my comment without revealing the sp/foiler but I’ll try my best.
Walt’s aging as posted in the sp/foiler is not adequately addressed as the producers said it would be. If Michael returns, I can forsee a scenario where it would be addressed, and the sp/foiler be true, but not until next season, if you catch my drift.
This probably didn’t make any sense . . . .

I like the idea of a Walt flashback that details what happened to him with the Others and once he and Michael left the island.
I betcha (no spoilers here, but tread lightly) that the producers will gauge fan/critical reaction to this season’s finale before making any major decisions about next year. Plus, next year’s eps don’t start until what, February?! So they have plenty of time to shoot some scenes with Michael (and Walt) no matter how tricky their own schedules are.
BTW, Harold P’s best role is still as Mercutio in Romeo + Juliet!

CBS’s loss whatever the reason, they cancelled Jericho and now have it replaced with some stupid reality show. The move to cancel this guys show also is good and he will do much better on LOST…we all know that

Does this indicate the writers are making alot of stuff up as they go ? I mean what if Harold doesnt return .. the writers just fill in that gab? Thats what I dont get. They also said they wanted to kill off Jack in episode 1. How could they have come up with that idea when they said they had planned the basics of 5 seasons? Same goes for Desmond who was only planned for a few episodes. Also Ben was just a temp char. But when they see the story works out with these chars they will stay in…

WHOOOHOOO!
I’ve honestly been checking to see if CBS was going to pick up Demons because I really would like to see alot more about the Michael/Walt storyline. I think I am one of the few LOST fans who enjoyed their time onscreen. If they are indeed both back, I really hope they do not kill them quickly, I hope that they remain until the end of the series.

Sorry to post here but GOD DAMN I’M REALLY DESPERATE FOR AN ANSWER!!!:
Hang on now I’m Lost. Is tonights episode THE FINALE or just 1 of 2 part finale?! (that will finish next week?) As The tailsection are saying tonight episode is the Greatest Hits and there’s still Through the Looking Glass after that? Pllllease don’t tell me I’ll have to wait another week for that? And there was me all geared up for tonight being the finale.
Comment by Jen — May 16, 2007 @ 5:11 pm
Ok nevermind, I’ve learnt it’s not tonight. I’m pissed. How come everywheres been treating tonight like it was the finale. God damn.

Hey, i havent actually read the full article.I just wanted to say that i feel the ” If you have tasted the forbidden fruit of a certain set of recent spoilers, it may give some context as to how certain issues of aging might be dealt with.” was unneccesary before the cut. While it doesnt spoil anything completely, it does plant the seed of the spoiler in question in the mind.

While they have a basic outline of whats going to happen, certain events have forced them to change some details. In the beginning the ABC execs said don’t kill off Jack, so he survived the first encounter with the monster. In season 2, the audience responded so well to Ben that they rewrote his character a bit and made him leader of the others. Does this mean that they’re making stuff up? No, it just means they’re making up the small details.

We really need Michael and Walt to come back, just so that Sawyer can beat the crap outta him before they hang him. I can see it now,
Sawyer:”Mike you got any last words?”
Michael: “WAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLLTTTTTTTTTTTTT!”
Comment by ThomasamohT — May 16, 2007 @ 5:40 pm
Maybe Harold isn’t going to be on a CBS show next year…but Nestor Carbonell (Richard Alpert)is. He’s going to be on Cane. That’s great for the actor, but as a Lost fan, I’m not too excited about the news. Richard is just getting quite interesting, as a character.

I know a ton of people, including myself that are watching this story like a hawk. If they get Michael back, then we the fans of this show will continue to watch. If they don’t we are done with this show, because it CONFIRMS that the writers have made us all look like fools, and have made this whole thing up as they went along. We already suspect it, but this will confirm it. And I read Michael wants to come back, so it would be the producers blowing it for us.

I will never watch anything on CBS again because they cancelled Jericho. They’re probably going to replace it with another terrible CSI.
Comment by Daniel — May 16, 2007 @ 11:25 pm
I agree. The best way to prove that a CBS show has any quality is to point out that they cancelled it. I pretty much stopped watching CBS when they cancelled Joan of Arcadia. I only started watching again for Jericho. Now I can go back to Lost, Fox, SciFi and other cable channels.

For me, Michael and Walt’s respective backstories and future potential was a HUGE part of my initial attraction to the show. Walt’s seemingly supernatural abilities and subsequent abduction, and Michael shooting Libby and Ana Lucia were some of the coolest twists, and I honestly feel that the show is suffering a little bit because they’re both gone. Of course, that’s just my opinion, and I still make sure my schedule is wide open on Wednesday nights regardless.
I hear talk on hear about some spoilers, possibly involving Walt. Unfortunately I try to avoid the spoilers, so can someone do me a favor and just reply to this question for me without going into too much detail?
Do the spoilers suggest that Walt will indeed be coming back?
A simple yes or no would be awesome. Please preface it with a spoiler warning so people don’t chew your face off. Thanks.

I agree with most everybody here. The only reason to bring back Michael is to kill him. He sucks, the worst character ever. I want Hurley to stab him in the heart and then eat his liver. Better yet, have Walt shoot him and dump him in ocean, no more daddy issues.

Anyone who thinks that Michael should be killed off are probably the same “fans” who say that Kate is Annie. Both which equal ridiculous.

i dont get why people hate micheal as a character?
I think he is/was a interresting character and when he does cum bak he shouldnt b killed off
Comment by rob — May 18, 2007 @ 7:16 am
michael should NOT be killed off, his departure has taken alot away from season 3. I really hope that he will make a return in season 4,5 and 6
Comment by evan — May 21, 2007 @ 1:50 pm
Michael most likely will come back. I think it’s about 80% certain he will since DEMONS didn’t get picked up. I actually think Michaels character could be REAL big and VERY important for S4.
I think it’s Walt who won’t be back that much.
