Speculation - What Lostie Would you Kill?
NOTE: This is NOT spoiler info, this is purely speculation (unless you know otherwise.) You are Damon Lindelof, you’re writing the finale, Carlton’s sweet banjo strumming coming from the corner, and you have a decision to make. You have to decide which of the LOSTies is going to croak in the finale. It has to have shock value that will keep people talking for the next eight months. It has to be under circumstances that will devastate the fans (friendly fire?) But above all, it has to make sense with THE STORY. Who do you kill? Make your vote and explain yourself.
poll_process(67); ?>

I would kill Desmond because that would make Charlie even more paranoid because his “protector” is not around anymore. I believe that Naomi would kill him and report back to Penny that she did not find him so that she can still be employed for the rest of her life!
Comment by Jason — May 1, 2007 @ 3:43 pm
Not that I want him to die, but…
I picked Jin.
A show like Lost needs to be surprising. If I were Damon or Carlton, I wouldn’t kill Charlie; it’s too obvious and expected.
Killing Jin would give a real WHAM to the audience. We’ve just found out that he is indeed the father of Sun’s baby. Sun’s joy that it’s Jin’s baby, even knowing that it might cost her her life, would make his death especially poignant. It would also spin her character off into a new direction. The Sun who shot Colleen and threatened to kill Jin’s mother could take center stage. Determination to save her baby, all she has left of her husband, could turn her into a real power player next season.

I’d kill Kate by friendly fire.
Comment by DocArzt — May 1, 2007 @ 3:46 pm
I voted for Jack. I can no longer tolerate the bone-head character that he has become. It amazes me that he is tied for the lead in voting with Charlie. After all, he is supposed to be the star of the show.
Comment by Oliver — May 1, 2007 @ 3:49 pm
I voted Locke…I don’t really want him dead, but It’d be pretty good IMO.
We’d all find out what went on while he was with the Others and the episode would show that he really was working for the greater good and knew something that no one else did. After this revelation, he’d end up getting shot by a P.O.’d Jack or other Lostie for blowing up the sub.
Comment by Mek — May 1, 2007 @ 3:56 pm
Although I have long been frustrated with Jack as a character for being too…well, boring, I don’t think I could kill him off. He was the first person we saw, he’s been our leader, and I think to not see him through to the end would be a detrimental to the story arc as a whole. And I want to mercy kill Sayid, because for such a great actor, and such a compelling character, he hasn’t done much for a year and a half. It’s kind of a shame, but at the same time, I don’t really know what there is for him to do. In Season 1, he was “the tech guy” — the go-to guy who seemed their best hope for escape. But with the Others, Desmond, et al who have so much more knowledge about this place, he’s kind of helpless. I’d hate to see Naveen Andrews resenting his role, or the character seeming to be nothing more than filler now that his story’s pretty much been told.
But there’s a third character who popped out, who I voted for. Sawyer. Because it would be devastating to Kate and the other Losties, it would have an impact on the fans, and it could be done in such a fashion that it was not just an “offing”, but a meaningful sacrifice–Maybe he tells Jack to let him die, and Jack does, and this is the ’snake in the mailbox’. His story could easily be resolved this week with his Cooper Confrontation, and to let himself die in this place, the very situation that created him finished, would be a powerful punctuation to the character.
Comment by CyHunter — May 1, 2007 @ 4:00 pm
I voted for Jack. He has been portrayed to be out of the loop with the rest of the crew. These days it looks as if he could easily join up with Juliet/The Others.
-I’m also still holding out for Locke to show that he’s simply out for all the answers and destruction that he can achieve. By having Jack join the others, it could set up a final confrontation between the man of science and the man of faith with only Locke walking away.
Comment by sandman — May 1, 2007 @ 4:02 pm
So Cy, if you’re saying that Sawyer will die in “The Brig”, that probably does make the most sense…it also ties in with the many Losties who have died after “fulfilling their purpose” in a way. Sounds pretty possible to me.
Comment by Mek — May 1, 2007 @ 4:05 pm
I voted for Jack. His stories seem to be over. Kate is with Sawyer (for now), We know about the origin of his tattoos, we know about his marriage and how it ended, his relation to Claire…I think the only mystery left is the one about his dad’s empty coffin. With 2 hours of the last episode there is plenty of time to answer that mystery. Killing Charlie is already expected. Juliet could take over as the island’s resident doctor.
Comment by thenumbersarebad — May 1, 2007 @ 4:09 pm
While I personally would not forgive DL&CC for killing him, I voted for Locke. He’s the one character that is absolutely pivotal to the mysteries of the island and killing him would blow my mind (and make me furious). It would be even better if someone completely unexpected like Jin or Hurley did it.
I can think of a good situation for Jin doing it. Suppose Sun tells Jin that Juliette told her she’s going to die, not mentioning the reason why (to hide the pregnancy). Jin assumes it’s because of something the Others did to her. Meanwhile, Juliette disappears to meet up with Ben (ie, Jin has no one to take revenge on). Jin joins the party that will obviously go after Juliette. When they finally find the Others, he goes berserk and either accidentally shoots Locke or willfully shoots him b/c he thinks he is with the Others.
With Hurley, it would obviously be another “Oooops….”
Comment by C — May 1, 2007 @ 4:14 pm
Just remember, people who die on the island don’t stay dead. So even if the season ends with a shocking death, I wouldn’t be surprised if they don’t show up again in the future.
That being said, the character who has had the most development recently is Sawyer. They have worked hard to show his softer side; drawing the audience in. So I think he’s be the biggest shock and therefore the most likely candidate
Comment by Abraham — May 1, 2007 @ 4:14 pm
I have a nagging suspicion that Jack will figure out that Juliet has been playing him the whole time…except it’ll be too late. Juliet will be responsible for the death of Jack.
Comment by Jimi Foto — May 1, 2007 @ 4:20 pm
I agree with Jimi. I think Jack will be the one to die, right after he contracts AIDS from fucking that skank bitch Juliet in the ass! He must have run out of Dharma rubbers!
Comment by Capt Bald Ass — May 1, 2007 @ 4:23 pm
I voted Charlie. A promise was made in “Flashes Before Your Eyes”, and I would feel cheated as a viewer if no one was killed after that. While Desmond and Claire have been involved in the plotline, it’s very much about Charlie. But I’d make sure it was a *good* death, evoking an emotion from the fans without turning them off. Scenerio? Claire/the-group-as-whole is in danger, Charlie’s the only one who can save her/them, Desmond warns that will lead to their death, and Charlie does it anyway as a final act of redemption.
It’s like Ana Lucia almost sort of Got It in “Two For the Road” when she recognized that shooting an unarmed man (Ben) was, ya know, Not Good. But then she was willing to let Michael do it, so she shot.
Or Nikki & Paulo, who were starting to get what each meant to the other in the very end, but it was too little, too late, so they were paralyzed by spiders and buried alive.
With Charlie, there needs to be payoff and redemption, as well as not leaving the audience feeling overly depressed. (Predestination = depressing.)

‘Capt Bald Ass’ needs to retire, your just not funny at all mate.
Comment by Frank — May 1, 2007 @ 4:41 pm
I voted for Kate because of the dramatic fall out it would cause between Jack and Sawyer…my second choice would be Locke, but I think, despite his lack of remaining flashback material (as far as I can tell, anyway), there’s a lot of potential for on island locke stories still.

I’ve really been thinking hard about this one since its pretty inevitable someone else WILL die this season. Personally, I hate seeing anyone go, but if I had to chose, I’d go with Charlie and Claire. Now before you jump all over me about her being a mother, let me make my points; While i don’t mind Claires accent, I’ve pretty much had enough of her. Shes a dirty baby user. She holds Aaron over Charlies head the second he does or says the wrong thing!!
“I don’t want my baby around a liar!”
“I don’t want my baby around someone who doesn’t believe my bird stories!”
“I don’t want my baby around someone who plays guitar!!”
“Stay away from my baby Charlie!” blah blah blah
On second thought, leave Charlie to care for Aaron and just kill Claire.
Comment by AVREY97 — May 1, 2007 @ 6:06 pm
I would not miss Claire. I know she has to be there to raise Turniphead, but all she does is scream or kick Chollie out or forgive Chollie or whatever. I don’t care of she’s Jack’s sister. They should have let Ethan keep Claire and then Charlie wouldn’t have killed Ethan and maybe Charlie wouldn’t be marked for death now.
Comment by edley — May 1, 2007 @ 6:08 pm
I voted for Jack because i cant stand him any more hes SCREAMS for everything and his flashbacks are becoming pointless and if they kill him off that one really change lost because the past seasons have built on how is a ’savior’ i think that would be cool. Just as long as they dont kill Locke hes my fav and way too cool to die
Comment by Oscar — May 1, 2007 @ 6:21 pm
First. People need to stop bashing Jack. He has one bad flashback episode(Stranger in a strange land) and everybody gets tired of him. I think Jack is a crucial part to the show and he is one of my favorite characters. Also Matthey Fox is one of the best actors on the show. Now, I would pick Desmond. Desmond is one of my favorite characters too but I think that he is going to sacrafice his life for charlie.
Comment by lostfanboy16 — May 1, 2007 @ 6:35 pm
I voted for Jack and it’s primarily because he’s put himself too far out there for Juliet and the Others. I think the best swan dive for him is too lose face with the 815ers when Juliet’s true nature is revealed, but then have him redeem himself by somehow sacrificing himself for the 815ers rather than siding with the Others. He should be killed by Juliet and it should somehow tie into his whole Sarah/Christian issues.
Comment by Merlboroman — May 1, 2007 @ 6:36 pm
Wow, no offense but that has to be the stupidest thing I have ever heard. So what if he is fat. Does it really matter. Also, if you are just watching it to see people have sex then you are watching it for wrong reasons.
Comment by lostfanboy16 — May 1, 2007 @ 6:41 pm
while I voted for Jack (simply because I can’t stand him), I believe that charlie isn’t long for the island (sniff, sniff). But I also believe that Desmond’s real job is just to keep Charlie alive until everything hits the fan and that Charlie will sacrifice himself to save everyone else.
Comment by sandman — May 1, 2007 @ 6:43 pm
I voted Claire for story reasons.
1. Audience gets the shocker and sadness of a new mother dying.
2. Charlie will not die. And he will realise why it is that he has destroyed himself. He always wanted a father and always wanted to be a good one himself. His brother Liam did it against all odds and Charlie feels like it was only possible through his help. If Claire dies I see Charlie struggling to save her, the two being alone in the jungle, but Charlie being unable to do anything. So Claire with her last words asks him to take care of Aaron and to raise him. Charlie then has to struggle to get back to the beach away from the Others who killed Claire. He has to serve as a protector and finally prove he can be a good father.
3. If Jack had recently found out about his relation to Claire, say through Juliet, then there is emotional struggle played out in him.
I just feel that the death of Claire, even though she is so hot, would add a lot to character drama and shock the audience.
Comment by jalocke — May 1, 2007 @ 6:46 pm
Heres how I’d do it:
First off we know Sawyer has been on the path to redemption this entire year, so he has to die. Second we’ve got Juliette (and probably Jack) doing something nefarious for the others. Third we’ve got Kate and Sawyer doing the nasty. So..
I’d have Kate start the episode with morning sickness. She gets together with Sun and shares the happy news. Unfortunately Sawyer is on the other side of the island so he doesn’t get to hear the news. J&J are almost done with getting the samples from the women, but they still need Kate’s. Together J&J kidnap Kate and take her back to the medical hatch.
Desmond gets a flash of events that show Kate’s death. Desmond and Charlie race off after Kate and save her but at the cost of Charlie’s life.
Finally Sawyer who is still on the Other’s side of the island, finds out what J&J were doing. He approaches them and says something like “You’re working for them Doc?” Then Jack says, “You just don’t get it do you James…but then again you never were really on my list.” He pulls out a gun and points it at Sawyer’s head to Juliette’s surprise. Jack then says “My real name is not Jack, it’s Jacob. And the Others, I’ve never worked for them, they work for me.” We hear a gunshot and the word LOST appears on a black screen.

I`d kill Jack and Hurley. Jack`s past has been explored already and he is becoming asinine. Hurley is useless. If Jack dies it sets up Hurleys drive to make Sawyer the groups defacto leader.

Has it really come to this? That we need a death of a “big time” cast member to give the show some resonance?
By the way, what a horrible bunch of posts from some obvious idiots, with the all the sex talk and fat people, blah blah blah….go back to the abc.com forums…
The bottom line is that it wouldn’t be a shock at all for ANYONE to die. We know this show has set the standard that anyone could die at anytime but it’s become such a cliche that it loses it’s meaning…honestly, to kill Jack or Kate or Sawyer would be a big waste of time..we already know the situation is dire..to kill someone now would just be a way of not having to write for that character anymore..
Killing anyone who doesn’t serve the story anymore will be the way it goes…Charlie is the most likely candidate..so what if he’s not a “good father”? It’s not his kid!! I have yet to see that Charlie has child rearing responsibilities that he’s failed somehow….His brother got off the heroin and he didn’t, unti he got to the island?? Big deal…If there’s going to be any bloodshed on this island, it will be to eradicate that character and their non-addition to the story telling…
Comment by El Prez — May 1, 2007 @ 7:04 pm
Based on the previous post from El Prez, I’m not going to read any of the above posts (I’m bummed, because they’re normally great fun).
However, I do want to comment. Were someone to die that would absolutely decimate people’s worlds for the next 8 months, it would be none other than the amazing Hugo Reyes. Hurley is the most sane, most sincere, most insightful character this or any TV show has ever had. He’s like Samwise Gamgee, but less weepy.
I voted that he would be the one you’d kill if you wanted to do something totally unbearable to people for the next 8 months.
Frankly, it would be anticlimactic for Sun to die, when we are now waiting anxiously for her to reach the end of her second trimester to see if she can be saved.
Jin is absolutely amazing, and I would break my tv if he died. Part of the absolute greatness of this show is scene upon scene entirely in Korean, and some with no subtitles.
If you killed Jack, Sawyer or John off, we’d say, “I knew one of them had to die.”
Now I’m just rambling. It’s all this Hurley/Jin dying stuff…
Don’t die, Hurley; don’t die, Jin.
Now I’m getting weepy.
Comment by tomfishstory — May 1, 2007 @ 7:18 pm
I agree that the deaths will be those who either don’t serve the overall story by living, or whose deaths will serve the story MORE. That’s consistently been the pattern when they’ve killed off characters. The justification has always been “That character’s personal story has played itself out, and their contribution to the greater story has played itself out.”
Thus, Jack will NOT die. The writers have made it clear that the “big story” is a Hero’s Journey/Joseph Campbell story, and Jack is the Hero. Like him or not, he IS the central character.
Claire however, I fear your days are numbered. The justification for killing Boone and Shannon was that as very young characters, there wasn’t a lot to mine in their FBs. I think we’ve effectively seen all there is to see in Claire’s past, as of Par Avion. The writers are suckers for a good gut punch, and killing the young, lovely new mother would be emotionally affecting for many viewers.
Sayid, similarly, has reached the end of his usefulness.
I’m betting Sawyer will not die because A) He’s Han Solo to Jack’s Luke Skywalker and B) The reason he gets so many danged magazine covers is he is pure man-candy–probably the biggest draw to female viewers bar-none.
Hurley is another strong possibility to die. He’s resolved his “curse” issues, is beloved by the audience, but I don’t think he’s integral to the Big Story.
Lastly, I’d say Ben will buy it. First, he wasn’t originally contracted as a regular. Second, I think Ben is a “level boss”–the bad guy that, yes, freaks you out, but ultimately sets you up to think “Holy Crap, if this isn’t the BIG boss, I’m in for an @$$-whuppin’!” In other words, Ben is Darth Vader. He’ll die but ultimately be redeemed in death.
Jacob is the Emperor.

The Sun will set… (ha ha)… My vote is for Sun. Granted, her days are already numbered (allegedly) because of her pregnancy. But I think somewhere along the line, as Juliet is planning on using her “successful” Island-full-term-pregnancy to facilitate her own exit from the Island, something happens to simultaneously off Sun and scuttle Juliet’s perfectly-laid plans. Is Jack somehow involved? Kate? I’m guessing both somehow. Remember Juliet’s comment about “Austen” and her (hopeful?) pregnancy? Have I couched this theory in enough “quotes” and (parentheses) to provide “plausible” (deniability) “?”
We’ll just have to wait and see…

something has to pan out with the whole future flashes of charlie’s death. Either Charlie or someone close to him will die. Since Charlie’s been set up to die, i’m starting to think it’s all been a misdirection… meaning the likely death would be Desmond or, more likely, Claire. Also, I think that there are some other possible charlie stories but claire’s past is pretty wrapped up seemingly;
Hurley would shock, for sure. but what about the hurleybird? probably will show up for the finale, so possible.
We don’t know about Desmond’s time in prison! I think it would be too harsh if Penny shows up to the island for Desmond’s funeral.
I’ve always thought there is another facet to Jin’s character but his and Sun’s backstory has sort of dried up as well. Sun could go early.
Sawyer would be devastating… but i doubt the producers would off him.
Unless i’m missing something, John’s backstory is almost tied up as well.
I think there is a good possibility for Ben to die. i just hope tom isn’t one of the deaths, but i have a feeling he is one of the only others that i could see having an impact in death, other than Juliette, Alex, Ben.
Maybe they’ll all die. but most likely Claire/Charlie and/or Sun/Jin.
Comment by hoodupcharlie — May 1, 2007 @ 8:33 pm
the logical kill would be charlie but that would be too easy and wouldn’t really stir things up. if you really want to kill someone off, kill locke. by killing him, the secret(s) he possesses of the island (remember he’s seen the monster in the eye) will go with him, thus, adding more mystery to what we’ve come to know as Lost.
Comment by jesse — May 1, 2007 @ 8:51 pm
I voted for Sawyer. I agree with the earlier poster who speculated that Kate would learn that she is pregnent while Sawyer is off with Locke on the Bridge Mission. During the finale battle scene, Sawyer will go after Jack. Juliet will shoot and kill Sawyer to save Jack. Kate will then “get the drop on” Juliet. Juliet will tell her that she (Juliet) is the only hope to save Kate’s life and the life of Sawyer’s unborn child. Kate will cock the hammer and Jack will step between them. Fade to Black, lost logo/single drum beat. See ya in January. (OBTW: Charlie will die connecting the underwater cable in Greatest Hits.)

SavageSparrow, I praise your Star Wars geeking out…simply awesome.
My pick for a while has been Jack, but reading some of these posts does have me thinking a little outside of the Jack box.
There are a lot of good arguments for Sawyer dying, he’s redeeemed himself, would set up a TON of tension and conflict for the next season, especially if Jack is the one that kills him, which I think would be one of the only ways for that to go down. Jack lowers the gun and we flip to Kate’s shocked face, black screen.
As for the Jack is Jacob theory by ThomasamohT (BTW, wicked name) love the way that sounds, but if Jack is Jacob, I’m gonna be pissed, that’s gettin’ into Jumping the Shark territory.
I know Jack is central, but is he really THE central character? I think a good argument can be made for Jack being say a, co-main, with Locke. These two are always right up there, against each other, facing off, disagreeing. Faith v Science is central, and they are the man of faith and the man of science.
I could handle anyone outside of Locke to be honest, but i would be super pissed to see Ben or Desmond go, because there’s so much more there, and Des reeeeeeally needs resolution to the whole Penny story before he goes. He hasn’t been redeemed yet.
Claire, hell yes, didn’t really like her from the start, Charlie, hell no, waaaaaay too obvious at this point, Hurley, a shocker yes, but there’s no reasoning outside of just killing him for the shock value (Plus I’ve heard we learn in the finale or near to it that Hurley ‘knows more than he’s letting on’, so I dont think he’s going yet.
While Jack is my dream pick, half cuz I’m sick of his pointless flashbacks and whiny problems, half because I think unless we open up some shocking, smoking crater in Jack’s story he’s pretty much told, my picks are Sayid and Juliet. Both great characters, but both have told their story, their flashbacks are complete, we understand their motivations. There’s nothing left there except to play the role Sayid’s played this yr. Bit player that could easily be a different member of the cast without much of a difference.
Did anyone really notice that while Sayid had a role going to and coming back from Otherville, when they were there he meant absolutely nothing? We were focused on Locke ‘defecting’, Kate/Juliet in the jungle, etc. Sayid was handcuffed to a swing set the entire time, and if he wasn’t there, it wouldn’t have changed a thing.
I think we can count on one or two deaths of noticeable characters on each side. Tom, Alpert, and Ben or Juliet for the Others, and Sayid, Sawyer and Jack or Locke from the Losties…

Why would anyone choose Jack!?! For one, HE’S the only doctor that is willing to help the 815ers! They will all die if Jack dies!
I voted Charlie. The only thing is that he’s actually been pretty cool for the last 5-6 episodes, but he is still the only one I would want to kill.
Comment by Brian Holmes — May 1, 2007 @ 10:38 pm
I picked Jack.
Jack will die in the episode before the finale, right at the end, sparking the war.
The flashbacks in the finale are for the Jack of the timeline that now exists off of the island.
They will show how his life was different, and that he put his father on 815 in his stead. After the plane crashed and everyone died, he was recruited by Penny to help her.
This new Jack is the other person that Naomi referred to. A second parachutist will appear in the finale, and it will be Jack.
Yeah, it’s out there, but it’s fun! It also explains how they can have so many deaths without us hearing about actors leaving the show!

Come on people, how is killing Charlie going to “have shock value that will keep people talking for the next eight months”?
Jin probably has little chance of dying, and thus, I’d be damn shocked.
Comment by Shrodes — May 2, 2007 @ 1:47 am
I don’t think it’s possible to ‘completely’ tell any character’ story since their our exposure has been limited– not to mention their being is completely dependent on the creative abilities of writers.
I really like Jack’s character. We’ve seen massive development this season– and it seems the Island experience has brought some changes to his personality. He’s now assertive and willing to take risks.
Who should die? Man, I don’t know. I’d like to see Jin turn into a major player in Island politics/action. Charlie is growing on me. Kate is hot as hell. I really like Claire’s hair this season. Sawyer, like Jack, has developed well. Desmond is intriguing.
I don’t care much for Locke, but his character seems too important as an agent of action.
Whatever happens will be a bummer.
Comment by D — May 2, 2007 @ 2:03 am
We need Des and Locke. Their motives still need a lot explanation. Charlie is to obvious.
Hurley finds out that Desmond traveled in time.If hurley finds out Des can change things in the past, he would do anything to get Libby back. The same way Juliette does anything to get back home. Hurley shows his darker side, so: not Hurley. Sun and Jin definatly need to talk, they got some serious issues to deal with. Sayid has to build some cool transmitter with the phone and the wire from the beach. Sawer is too much loved by the losties now he is not giving them silly names anymore. Jack and Juliette are Adam and Eve. Kate could be pregnant and die, but she cant. She is Jacob.
My thoughts go out to Vincent, for he is not on the list.

Hoodupcharlie, You said it perfectly!!
Since when do they EVER build up a death on this show?? NEVER!! I have a feeling Charlie is being used as a distracted to kill another character close to him. Whether it be Des, Hurley or Claire. Like I said before, Im hoping its Claire.
Comment by AVREY97 — May 2, 2007 @ 5:09 am
I just want to point out that choosing the most ’shocking’ death and choosing the death that will fit the plot are going to be two entirely different things. The most shocking death is going to be one that we do NOT see coming. Following the plot, we’d see it coming, or somewhat expect it.

Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse were on Preston & Steve Morn Show (radio in philly PA.). To sum it up they said the four toed statue is very very important but wont be addressed till season 4. Walt or Michael will make an appearance but the end of this season, and one two or three people may die. just thought u’d like to know.
Comment by jimyy — May 2, 2007 @ 6:03 am
I would kill off Kate because I think we’ve learned pretty much everything there is to know about her character. I don’t think her backstory can go any further. Isn’t that why they said Boone and Shannon were killed?
Comment by thefallguy1 — May 2, 2007 @ 6:04 am
And as for the 9.8% of u that picked Locke to die, i hate ur guts, and i piss on everything u stand for.
Comment by Jimyy — May 2, 2007 @ 6:15 am
I think Claire is the most expendable. It seems her biggest function within LOST is Aaron’s mom. Her death would also bring about some interesting story lines for Charlie, as he would be Aaron’s surrogate papa…
Comment by cap10tripps — May 2, 2007 @ 6:20 am
I vote Hurley strictly for the emotional impact, but only if there is a mysterious third group on the island. I would like to see a Season 3 ending where the Others & 815ers are facing off, when suddenly there’s a gunshot & Hurley falls dead to the ground. Both 815ers & Others turn towards the direction of the gunshot and we see a group we haven’t seen before. Then “LOST” appears on the screen and that’s it until January. Unlikely, but I think it would pack enough of an impact to get most everyone who viewed the finale to tune back in when the show reuturns in January.
Comment by Pete317 — May 2, 2007 @ 6:31 am
i voted for hurley as i beleieve that season four needs to be more dark and hurley just is’nt that kinda guy. it wud also be a massive surprise that would keep everybody asking questions until the start of season 4.
Comment by shaun — May 2, 2007 @ 6:32 am
ive heard based on what ive read on Darkufo that JACK WILL NOT DIE IN THE SEASON FINALE!
Comment by anthony — May 2, 2007 @ 6:42 am
They can’t kill Hurley, he’s like the peace maker of the bunch. They haven’t really told u much about Hurley, and he’s supposed to be supernatural in someway (cursed or otherwise) they need to explain that more. Besides, if he were to die, what kinda island would this be? Killing the most innocent, loveable character of the show. That would look bad from the Island’s stand point.

While I haven’t been posting on this site for too long, I have enjoyed the witty, and often well-constructed dialog that occurs for each topic. I am in full agreement with you El Prez regarding some of the user comments…they are absolutely disgusting.
Why haven’t these comments been deleted?

Do you have a link that we check out? I would love to see this information…thanks

With you 100% my man. In another post we have someone calling Merlboroman (who has done some good work for thetailsection) an idiot, and then there is the post where some Englishmen bash the U.S. and some Americans bash the U.K. Seriously people can we not waste the great space that Doc provides us with that rediculousness? I hope those of you who waste our time are just kids who haven’t fully developed rational thought yet. Otherwise please re-evaluate your life.
Comment by cap10tripps — May 2, 2007 @ 8:03 am
yeah, I saw those posts (e.g. the US-Britain threads in particular)…I was absolutely incredulous. People were in a “row” because we “Yanks” didn’t know the difference between the UK, England, Great Britain etc.? Give me a break…

Jack! I can’t stand him anymore! Kill Jack! Kill Jack! and get Hurley a new girl! Naomi and Hurley sitting in a tree…..

**speculation warning**
I’ve got it. During the break between movies, Harold Perrineau (Michael), filmed one scene in secret for the lost producers which will wrap up his story. Here is the scene:
He shows up and is immediately killed before revealing an important truth about the island. The question that will captivate us for 8 months is “who killed him and why.”
Comment by TabulaRasa — May 2, 2007 @ 8:47 am
I think that would be really cool, especially there is word that either Michael or Walt COULD make an appearance this season…
Comment by Todd Anthony — May 2, 2007 @ 9:05 am
More shocking value wouldn’t be a Lostie, but an Other. A Lostie would be easy and sure Charlie will go, and maybe one more but Who is the ONE strong “other” character, Ben. Jacob is being mentioned more and more. We have come to love Ben and wonder what is he doing there and for us to get answers from him of the island and the “others”. Killing him off would just make us say “Well there goes are truth to the underlying story of the island and more!”. Thanks for the good times, Ben!
Comment by AJ — May 2, 2007 @ 9:40 am
I like it Tabula. It seems plausible. I just hope we at least get back to the Walt story. There were some good possibilities there…
Comment by cap10tripps — May 2, 2007 @ 9:43 am
I think Jack dies, saving Sawyer and killing the black smoke monster, just like the ending in the Lost game I bought for my cellphone dun dun dun…plus thats get us talkin all summer “I cant believe they killed off Jack”

I enjoy this site every single day, but i was one of the people who bashed the U.K guys… I am a combat veteran and really didnt appreciate the Vietnam comment one of them made. I am not a little boy, and i can take anything, but i will not tolerate some ass making a comment and poking fun at vietnam when over 60,000 American men died there.
Comment by themachine — May 2, 2007 @ 10:19 am
and i hope Locke dies. I can’t stand him. He is a integral part of the show, but I just don’t like him. I hope the island puts him back in that wheel chair, he is a user and a born loser.
Comment by themachine — May 2, 2007 @ 10:21 am
Claire. I hate her. If she yells at Charlie or screams “My baby!” one more time, I will quit watching the show.
Comment by Kaley — May 2, 2007 @ 11:00 am
Has nobody considered Sayid??
The guy is way too perfect to be realistic:
- He first discovered the whispers after spending a
day with an insane french woman.
- He knew that “Henry Gale” (Ben) was an Other.
- He knew to dig up the real Henry Gale’s grave.
- He knew that Mikhail was an Other while kate was convinced he was DHARMA.
- He knew where the hidden hatch was in the Flame.
- He knows not to trust Juliet.
And tbh, his flashbacks are only based on him torturing people which is getting dry now.

AMEN…
Comment by Todd Anthony — May 2, 2007 @ 12:05 pm
OH man, I hear you loud and clear…whomever said that only perpetuates the stereotype that Europeans hate Americans…plus it was just an inappropriate dig as well.
Comment by Todd Anthony — May 2, 2007 @ 12:17 pm
I voted to kill Charlie because it both closes the doomed-to-die arc and provides character redemption (though it would break my heart to see Dom Monaghan off the show).
Comment by Tim J. — May 2, 2007 @ 12:19 pm
Sorry for seemingly insulting you. I have all the love in the world for my country and my soldiers. I just get frustrated when I’m on here looking for theories, hints, and speculation and find a huge section of insults. I too felt like responding to those who criticized my country, but I felt they were better left ignored. On a personal note, my grandfather recieved a purple heart and my best friend’s father died from agent orange related diseases. I certainly meant no offense to a soldier. That being said, you (themachine) are one of the more insightful bloggers on here…
Comment by cap10tripps — May 2, 2007 @ 12:28 pm
I would kill Jack. He is no longer needed. There are plenty of other valuable characters and plenty of whom would make excellent leaders. I think Jack is horribly boring, predictable and arrogant. Plus, if Juliet turns out to be good (although I obviously still have my doubts) the doctor roll is filled. It could be Locke but I think the only way this would be is if there is something going on in his life outside of the show (ie. an illness?) He’s getting pretty old. I don’t want Locke to go, though. He and Desmond are my favorites.

id kill locke.. hes kinda seemed to switch sides i dont know.. it depends on what happens tonight!
Comment by keith — May 2, 2007 @ 2:02 pm
Aren’t we supposed to state whom we think we’ll die based on what the prior episodes have dictated to us, not “I think Jack will die because he’s annoying,” or “Locke won’t die because he’s my favorite.” Those sort of nonsensical rationale doesn’t tell me or anyone else why Jack, for example, will die…
Comment by Todd Anthony — May 2, 2007 @ 2:06 pm
So maybe Michael parachuted in with Naomi. Michael has information on how to get off the island, but Sayid, who is really working for the 2nd group of the others, shoots Michael before he can relay the information.
Comment by anbronty — May 2, 2007 @ 2:34 pm
I just wanted to comment on ThomasamohT’s comment. Having Jack turn out to be Jacob would be CRAZY! That would be the best thing I’ve ever seen! Great idea!! Although I don’t like the idea of Sawyer dying. *sniff*
Comment by Wolfie — May 2, 2007 @ 4:57 pm
Could they all be dead? What if they all died in the plane crash and were between heaven and hell.
Think outside the box.
Comment by Rob — May 2, 2007 @ 7:09 pm
I would kill off Hurly by Food Poisoning!!LOL
Comment by Rand — May 2, 2007 @ 8:15 pm
I agree. I am sick and tired of Jack’s arrogant attitude to everyone. He was the star of the show, and now just goes around yelling at everyone. It’s getting old. Come on black smoke, get him! We’re tired of his rantings.
Comment by Amber — May 3, 2007 @ 5:32 am
Well we have one down and three to go. Cooper was one, now we have three more to pick from which includes the shocker!
Comment by AJ — May 3, 2007 @ 7:00 am
Rob, the purgatory theory (between heaven and hell) has been officially disproven. I could rant about my theories for what Naomi said but thats not for this section.
All the guns should point at Sayid
