LOST - Official Descriptions for May
ABC has seen fit to release the descriptions for every episode remaining EXCEPT for the final. That one says ‘Copy TBD’. For the descriptions and a little speculating follow the yellow brick link…
3.19 - May 3 - "The Brig" - A newly focused Locke breaks away from "The Others" in an attempt to persuade Sawyer to help rid them of a great nemesis that has caused nothing but pain in both of their lives. Meanwhile, a new island inhabitant discloses some shocking information about Oceanic Flight 815.
The new part here is ‘Newly focused’. The question of course is, focused on what? The promo shots reveal some very interesting info. First, if you compare this pic with this one you come to a few startling conclusions. First, Locke is surprised in both pictures by the same thing. In the second it is that his hand healed much faster than anticipated. In the first, it is that Ben has been healed. That’s a nice trick seeing as though Jack told him that it would be weeks, months, or perhaps eternity before Ben walked again, yet there he is. So, did Ben ever really need Jack for the surgery? Or is there a more elaborate and insidious plan at wok?
3.20 - May 9 - "The Man Behind the Curtain" - Ben begrudgingly begins to introduce Locke to the secrets of the island, beginning with the mysterious Jacob. Meanwhile, Juliet’s secret goes public.
So despite the events of "The Brig" that caused Locke to ‘break away’, he is back with them. But is he ‘with’ them? That is the question! We know that Locke is bringing Sawyer to the brig of The Black Rock to confront cooper, but in this pic he is also pointing out the explosives. He’s either saying ‘Watch your step’ or ‘we’re going to need some of that.’ Could Locke have his own plan to take care of the Others? Since Locke has sort of gone rogue from the Others, is he the one who outs Juliet to Sawyer?
3.21 - May 16 -"Greatest Hits" - While Jack devises a plan to do away with "The Others" once and for all, Sayid uncovers a flaw in "The Others’" system that could lead to everyone’s rescue. But it requires Charlie to take on a dangerous task that may make Desmond’s premonition come true.
Ah, confirmation of the connect the buoy rumor. However, I was watching White Rabbit the other day and remembered that Charlie can’t swim! Also, what about the torture sequence? And WHY must it be Charlie in particular?

Well, I think the Lost Moment today shows that Kate is the one who outs Juliet (for her fertility doctor past), so it can’t be Sawyer

I think the “out” he is talking about is that Juliet wasn’t left behind by the others and is going to meet with them in a week…
Comment by Brett — April 23, 2007 @ 4:49 pm
but if that’s the case then Juliet’s secret gets out in D.O.C., not The Man Behind the Curtain

Charlie said he doesnt swim “I dont swim” which may not necessarily mean he is not able to. Perhaps he was a good swimmer but then was traumatized and has not gone back so he will have to overcome his fears in order to help everyone.
Really if Charlie couldnt swim at all why wouldnt Sayid get someone else to do it who could actually ya know swim. Charlie probably can but really doesnt want to.

Re. the description for 3.19, “The Brig,” has Locke and Sawyer’s mutual “nemesis” been previously designated as “great”, or is that detail new to this press release? Clearly the nemesis is Cooper, or so we assume at this point. However, the description of a “great nemesis”… could this be a hint that Cooper is more than he seems, specifically that he is either:
1) Connected to the DeGroots.
2) Connected to the Hanso family or Hanso foundation. (Given that the patriarch of the Hanso family is Magnus - “great” - Hanso.) or,
3) That he is either somehow connected to Jacob or is Jacob, who has been described as “a great man” and “a magnificent man.”

1. Is 3.19 the episode with no pre-crash flashbacks and just a recap of what Locke has been up to for the past few days?
2. Does anyone think Naomi’s revelation about flight 815 might be that it disappeared 3 years ago, or maybe only a few days ago, continuing the theme of ‘lost time’ on the island?
3. Charlie’s aquaphobia stems from some childhood trauma which occured while diving - he was unable to rescue his friend who drowned (possibly even a previously unmentioned baby brother)?
4. Jacob probably won’t be revealed to us when Locke is taken to him, but if he is he’ll be played by Christopher Walken….?!

Dolbach -
That would be awesome! I can see it now, “I have a fever, and the cure is more Cow Bell!”

RE Ben being healed: My guess is that he really did need Jack, but after he interacted with Locke in “The Man From Tallahassee”, Ben regained his power to heal himself. Because if Ben hadn’t truly lost the power in the first place, much of this season fails to make sense. After all, why would Ben have gotten a tumor then?

We have been told that in this Charlie flashback we would learn more about Charlie’s father. i believe that Charlie’s trauma for water was possibly caused by his dad.
maybe his father attempted to drown him at a young age, or maybe Charlie lost his father in the water?

I think VS has a really good point it was never stated whether Charlie couldn’t swim or he was afraid to swim. Because it said in the Charlie flash back episode it has a scene when he was younger and swimming in a pool and also a scene where he is being tortured by some people. Hmmm this would help my theory that Charlie isn’t the major character to die and it is Sayid that goes insted.

Sayid is my absolute favorite character on the show… that would totally suck donkey knob… and I think Ben didn’t need jack, but it was more of his manipulating, and was his plan all along to get to Jck. Remember, Ben and Juliet in the Pearl in the Pikki episode? they were talking sbout how they were going to get jack… even though he already knew about the tumor, it was all a part of his master plan, which i have no idea what it is…

Hey guys.
Refering to IMDB the final is named “Through the Looking glass”. Reflecting over that title its pretty obvious we will both be revealed a big secret, or be “looking through the glass” (they better!) and this secret will be a little reversed (thus the strange sentance).
Thats my two pennies, any believers?

Yeah so the island is a big snow globe that is being monitored by the dharma inicitive and in the finalle we will see this globe and the people monitoring it.
Comment by darren locke — April 25, 2007 @ 12:21 pm
No snow globe. That’s so St. Elsewhere. And I distinctly remember the producers saying that they weren’t going be ripping off other “major twist” type ending (like Newhart - dream or Matrix-esque themes) after the Dave episode in Season 2. So there’s no way it’s a snow globe.
Maybe the title refers to a revealing of more magical powers of the island (a la Alice in Wonderland). Or perhaps the looking glass is not a metaphor and it’s a mirror in which you see your true self (OK, that’s so Harry Potter I’m embarassed to have written it)
Comment by Scott — April 26, 2007 @ 11:10 pm
My son tells me he doesn’t swim, although he could swim at age 5 and was a very good swimmer. Like everyone has said, saying you don’t swim, doesn’t mean you can’t swim. A play on words and we’ll let the writers skate on that one.
Locke must have a plan, because Jack does. Jack’s plans always fail. We’ve seen that he is only successful as a surgeon. Poor guy. I am sure he’ll botch another plan.
I can’t wait for James to show that down deep he isn’t a con man, and let’s Sawyer (aka Cooper) go after making him read the letter he wrote as a kid.

Lost is without doubt one of the most impressive, although somewhat confusing programs ever created.
Are we all being “duped” into actually being lost?
could we all be part of a Experiment by the producers
to see how how Lost we can all be?
Perhaps to see just how we manage a whole host of situations and how our thoughts and ideas spiral out of control?.
What do you all think?
Gaz .
Comment by Gary — April 30, 2007 @ 6:47 am
You’re so right, Gaz! I’m so totally confused by this point, I can’t wait till the finale so I can get some sleep!!! The spoilers and theories only make me more intense! Somebody, quick, tell me what is happening!
