doc, I do not understand on why this site’s Quicktime files will not play. I am not behind a firewall or proxy and I have tried it on all three of my computers in different networks all with the same results a big Quicktime logo with a question mark in the middle. The same thing happens at MisFit’s site and darkUFO’s site. Are all of you using Macs?
If you’re seeing it on this article there is a serious problem, because this you tube which is just a flash file. Are you trying all from the same computer? Check to see that you have flash installed. If you do, try another browser. Anybody else out there having problems?
Ok Doc, I got it and for every one else who might have this issue, it appears Quciktime Player has highjacked playing flash files that are embedded into web pages. Go to Quicktime preferences|Browser tab|Mime types button|Misc|UNcheck the Flash media box.
I don’t have the exact same problem but youtube videos never work for me (just on this site). At least in Firefox, if I switch to IE it works fine. I don’t have any other problems (the google flash ad right next to the youtube video on this very page works perfect). Not sure what the problem is…
I’m almost positive there’s another plugin for firefox. I use that one and it works fine everytime.
You might need to reinstall flash player for firefox and it should fix the problem. Personally I wouldn’t trade firefox for any other type of browser, especially IE =P
Couple of things crazy. First clear your cache and cookies. That alone will sometimes fix things. If not, download the latest version of flash from adobe.
