Very exciting stuff, I really have high hopes for the last few episodes. I will be really disappointed if Jack is killed though, in fact I am almost nervous that it could be him to go. I realize if he is killed it would be because he wants to leave the show and not because his character’s death would fit the story line, I just don’t see where the story would go without him. Either way, it is sure to be interesting.

Interesting stuff! Can’t wait! I really want to find out more about Dharma and the purge… and this ancient monument…
Also really want to know about this “third group” on the island (if it exists)!

Jack’s would be an awesome death. Think of the lit up message boards. There has to be something that sustains us until January.

Sounds v. exciting. One thing though regarding ‘through the looking glass’ spoiler- ” kate is divided over sawyer and jack”. Weve seen this so much over season 3 will it ever get resolved?? Hope they dont kill jack or locke! Nice work doc!
Comment by WILLOW — April 20, 2007 @ 9:34 am
Out of everything on the future episodes I’ve read so far the major death that would make the most sense is Sawyers. Nobody has made more enlightened choices recently than good old James. Perhaps he will have found forgiveness and not want to kill his and Locke’s common nemesis. This would lead to his eventual enlightened death (on to a higher plane). Who knows Doc, maybe TPTB want to free up his schedule so he can completely commit to the part of Roland in the upcoming “The Dark Tower” movie/s…
Comment by cap10tripps — April 20, 2007 @ 9:55 am
That being said, the most inconsequential death for the fans would be Kate. The most talked about death would be Jack. The death that would piss everone off would be Locke (they’ll probably steer clear of that one)…

I hope Jack dies and think it would fit the story perfectly. This is what I hope happens.
Jack dies whick causes a rift in the 815er’s and they break into two groups Kate and Sawyer group vs Locke group vs the others vs this new third group vs smokey. Total chaos between the groups. Only the stong survive, they have been promising the lord of the flies.

How about if some Lost-y and an Other get someone thrown into the Past? That could explain why Ben knows everything he does. Jacob’s List is a list of folks who are needed so a specific thing happens, or doesn’t happen.

Very nice stuff! Cheers Doc.
I’m hoping Jack dies, couldn’t live if good ol’ Locke did.

That would be sweeet.

Let it be Jack.
Comment by H20 — April 20, 2007 @ 11:07 am
I think Jack will die. His story is done. There is no reason for him anymore. We still haven’t seen any flashbacks of Kate before she was on the run. There is still plenty of Sawyer story left, and with Jack being dead Sawyer will be the new ‘Jack.’ Locke will never die.
Comment by Marvin Candle — April 20, 2007 @ 11:38 am
I guess I can’t see it being Jack, nor can I see it being Locke either. They represent two opposite poles in the Lost world, science/reason vs. faith. I see those being two central tenets as well. In fact, I’m not sure I can see Kate dying either. She’s sort of the primary female lead. I guess, in my opinion and by process of elimination, I can see Sawyer dying. I’m not sure why they would want to kill him off though. He, like Locke, provides enough tension to Jack to make the show enjoyable (ie. serve as a foil, if you will)

I just think it is about time kate takes off ALL of her clothes…

My totally wrong predictions for the rest of the season based on this information.
3.18 - D.O.C
Sun finds out that Jin is the father of her baby. This has more long term story potential for Sun finding out in nine months she could die then Jin not talking to her again because of an affair. It would give Juliet another tie to the 815er?s as well to keep Sun from dieing.
Patchy follows the flare to Desmond?s group and id?s the parachutist as a Member of Dharma. She was Desmond?s replacement for the hatch. This is probably a stretch but when Desmond saved Charlie the ?picture on the box? changed and instead of finding Penny it shuffled the details so it was Naomi who is Desmond?s replacement who works for Whitmore (an investor in Dharma?) and was given a pic of Desmond by Penny.
3.19 - The Brig
Locke leaves the other because of his Dad. Locke can?t stand to be around him but can?t bring himself to kill him so he inlest Sawyer to get rid of him for him. Locke doesn?t return to the other thinking he doesn?t need them to find the island secrets, the island will tell him.
No idea what the chilling information is but keeping the theme of timelines and Desmond changing the picture she will tell them that flight 815 landed in Los Angeles with everyone on board.
3.20 - The Man Behind the Curtain
Jacob is finally reveled and it?s???. Alvar Hanso himself.
3.21 - The Greatest Hits
Charlie is captured by a new unseen group (the whisperers, I?ve never believed they were the others). We don?t see them yet but brother monk and is behind it. They told Desmond that there is no use changing the future because the future will correct itself and they want to make sure it happens by killing Charlie.
3.22/23 - Through The Looking Glass
Jack wants to go rescue Charlie against the wishes of Locke (another island sacrifice). Jack leads his team into the jungle and finds the others ancient monument (four toes?) where he believes Charlie is being held. Locke convinces the 815er?s that stayed behind that Jack can?t be trusted and has been compromised by the others. He leads them (except Desmond) into the jungle to be one with the island. The others are at the ancient monument and they battle it out. During the fight Alex gets injured and crawls into the bushes and finds Ruso. Who are you she asks. I?m your mother. Alex believes her and they leave the fight together. Jack sees Ben and chases him with Kate right behind. He catches him and throws him on the ground. He tells Ben it?s over. In the bushes we here ?no. it?s not.? Jack looks up and out walks his dad. Jack confused doesn?t see Ben pull a gun and shoot Jack. He falls to the ground right when Kate gets there. He looks at her and his last words are ?Juliet.? Kate drags Jack to Sawyer who picks him up and they retreat. Back on the beach we hear the helicopter and it lands on the beach. Out comes Penny. She says they have to leave now. He says what about my friends. She says their window is very short and have to leave now or not at all. Desmond gets on the chopper and they take off. The last scene is a beaten Charlie he looks up and sees the monk over him with a knife. He says ?time to correct the anomaly? and stabs downward as Charlie scream and the lost logo pops up.
And now REACT.

I think those predictions/plot synopsis are pretty cool…you put a lot of thought into those. Rock on!
One thing is: I agree that those whispers we heard belong to another island group…i.e. “The Whisperers”

If the only choices we are given for the “major character” death are Jack, Sawyer, Locke and Kate, I’d have to go with Sawyer.
Comment by gusteaux — April 20, 2007 @ 1:28 pm
All 4 will die

So, I had a thought last night, and I apologize in advance if this has already been suggested. We have been talking a lot about how Charlie is “supposed” to have died already - when first Jack, and then Desmond repeatedly, saved his life.
I got to thinking about the deaths so far. At this point, there are almost no survivors from the tail section. Just Bernard, Cindy, and the kids. But if you think about it in terms of where they were supposed to be on the plane, things shake out a little differently. Bernard was only in the tail section because he was using the restroom. His seat assignment was in the mid-section next to Rose and Jack. Cindy is a flight attendant - no seat assignment. And Charlie was (I think?) seated in the tail section but got up to get his fix, or trip or something. So, what if the tailies weren’t supposed to survive, and since the crash, this has been corrected for by both island and human forces. Only the mid-section passengers were supposed to make it. So the pilot and first class folk were killed in the crash and by smokey, and of the survivors, Cindy found a new home, Bernard found his “place,” and now Charlie is fighting for his life because he was actually supposed to die in the crash. Yes Jack saved him, and then Desmond saved him multiple times, but originally it was his habit that saved him.
Thoughts? (Obviously theory is shot if Charlie wasn’t seated in the back of the plane - can’t remember for sure where he was prior to the scene in the restroom…)

None of them will die. It’s just to get us worried. They can’t kill J,K or S because of the whole love triangle. They won’t kill Locke because he’s awesome. My two cents.
Comment by matthew — April 22, 2007 @ 4:04 am
After failing to secure Locke, Ben must face the wrath of the mysterious Jacob. Flashback’s this time belong to Ben himself, or do they? We journey back to the days of Dharma to find some familiar faces that do not belong.
^ Here’s my take:
We see flashbacks of Michael Emerson all episode and we think he’s Ben. The last flashback will see the character say something like - “I guess I’ll need to clone myself. Call him Ben.” and then someone says “Yes, Jacob.” BAM!
It’d fit because the flashbacks belong to the actor who plays Ben, but is the character Ben? No - it’s Jacob, fitting the “or do they?” question, as no, the flashbacks aren’t Ben’s flashbacks at all. And Ben has to face the wrath of his “father”, who is an even more evil version of Ben himself. Like the SUPERboss of the Others.

i definitely like this last post, makes a lot of sense and puts a twist on things, which the producers love to do. im disappointed that everyone wants jack to die, if anything, i would chose locke, but im never right so its not him. dont think its sawyer cuz he hasnt up to this point been as beneficial as the others so we wouldnt be as upset. so the choice is up between jack and kate. maybe it could be kate cuz this new girl naomi has taken her place, and juliet almost has as well. jack has been the most popular and important lostie. ratings i think would go down for the show if he were killed.
Comment by jay monet — April 24, 2007 @ 6:42 pm
If someone is gonna die, let it be Jack. He’s essentially a whiny, selfish guy (as in, “I haven’t played since I was 12″ when he loses at ping-pong to Sawyer, beating Sawyer at cards, (beating a con-man at poker? right.) and trying to get off the island by himself, where Sawyer would never leave Kate behind. Shoot Jack’s wimpy butt, or at least make him a subordinate to Sawyer, who would make a much better leader. The only guy more fitted to lead than Sawyer is Locke.

I would love some answers about the island and the others at this point. I have been very frustrated until Juliette’s double duty was revealed. I would really enjoy some good answers, there are so many questions left too many new charecters introduced for my taste, lets keep it moving people.

I want Jack to die, his on screen persona is so glib and condesending, can’t stand him. Not alone there either, How is he the hero, can someone explain that to me. He is such a jerk!
