Lost 3.19 The Brig Promo Pics
Scored some promo pics for you all from The Brig! Seventeen of them to be exact. Partake of their goodness here.
These are medium sized for right now, I’m sure the full sized pics will pop up soon enough, but unless I am completely mistaken we are the first. So enjoy!
On the spoiler scale, they are extremely light, but do offer some interesting ‘perspectives’ that I think you will find interesting, as well as some familiar interiors that confirm some certain ‘dark territory’ rumors. Also, look out for a familiar face.
By popular demand, I’ve added some larger versions below. Just click through.

Doc, you are on fire today brother!!!
What’s the deal? Wife and kids out of town??
Comment by El Prez — April 19, 2007 @ 8:00 pm
I drank some of “the others” Kool-aid…. good stuff!
Comment by docarzt — April 19, 2007 @ 8:02 pm
Doc, slow down. I can’t keep up. You are a machine today.
Interesting, Ben is walking again.
Comment by TabulaRasa — April 19, 2007 @ 8:03 pm
So the Brig is the Black Rock?
Comment by Muscle_Bob_Buff_Pants — April 19, 2007 @ 8:08 pm
So I guess Ben can walk now?
Comment by frances — April 19, 2007 @ 8:11 pm
Yahoo, looks like the Black Rock again!
It all makes sense now: Brig was an old term for the storage area of a vessel/ship.
Comment by Benjamin Linus — April 19, 2007 @ 8:13 pm
I thought Danielle was afraid of the “dark territory”… like REALLY afraid… I wonder what would tempt her to venture into it?
I can’t remember… she was the one that knew about the Black Rock first, right? and then she told the losties about it? did she know anything significant about it?
Comment by johobi — April 19, 2007 @ 8:40 pm
Ben’s walking again! Looks like a great episode. Sawyer, Locke, and Ben all in one!
Comment by RedRobin — April 19, 2007 @ 8:53 pm

Ohhh whose file is Locke reading?
Comment by Ben's Wheelchair — April 20, 2007 @ 2:02 am
I would guess Cooper’s. It probably reveals that he went by the alias ‘Sawyer’. So looks like Locke’s bandaged hand got healed when they got there. Also looks like Ben got healed! So he probably didn’t Jack after all! Once Locke figures out that Ben was in the wheelchair to fool Jack, he’s not going to be happy.
Comment by docarzt — April 20, 2007 @ 5:30 am
The reason I think Danielle is there is because she is involved wit the others any opinions
Comment by DMS — April 20, 2007 @ 5:43 am
I’ve said before that Danielle is with the Others but not by her own will. I think they are threatening to kill Alex if Danielle does not cooperate with them. The way she just gave up Ben when he was “caught” in her trap did not fit her at all. She could very well be a spy for the Others.
Comment by bdub — April 20, 2007 @ 6:43 am
Yeah after learning more about Ben does anyone really think he would get caught if he didn’t want to? Either it was a big setup of he’s using Danielle like everyone else
Comment by DMS — April 20, 2007 @ 6:55 am
My favorite, most defining moment with Ben:
At the flame station, Ben telling Juliet, “I never lie.”
Oh really, didn’t he lie when he said the “not-so-live” video was live? Didn’t he say that he was Henry. Isn’t his name, Benjamin Linus, another lie?
You are in a room and there are two doors. one door leads to life, one door leads to death. Standing in the room are two people: one is a person that always, without failing, tells the truth, the other person always tells a lie. You don’t know which person is which. You can ask only one question to determine the door that leads to life. What do you ask?
Well, in this scenario, we know who the one is that always tells a lie, it is Ben.
Comment by TabulaRasa — April 20, 2007 @ 7:08 am
Ben maynot be walking. See how one of his sleeves is pulled up, he could just be using a crouch. So… standing, not walking.
Comment by BurnZ — April 20, 2007 @ 7:17 am
I think Danielle probably just followed the others when they departed so she could have access to Alex.
I assume Locke is reading Coopers file(which refers to him as Sawyer), who is being held in the brig of the black rock. It also looks like he’s making a pointy stick, possibly to torture Cooper.
I have a semi-theory:
Jacob may be Penny’s father. Think about it. He arranges for Desmond to be on the island for the rest of his life to keep him from his daughter. After all, didn’t he sponsor the race around the world? He knew Desmond would not pass up that chance. He worked with Libby to make sure that Des had a boat. He has access to endless funds, much like the Mittlose.
Comment by thefallguy1 — April 20, 2007 @ 7:31 am
What is in Ben’s hand in the first picture as John reaches for his knife, and what is that in the background? Another broken pillar?
I love the picture of John sharpining a stick and smiling.
Comment by TabulaRasa — April 20, 2007 @ 7:33 am
You ask the questions
” This question is only for the liar, which door should I go through ”
because the truthful person is truthful they wont awnser and then go in the opposite door of the person that awnsers and technically its only one question you never said we couldn’t say other stuff
Comment by DMS — April 20, 2007 @ 7:36 am
that is a fair answer, let’s modify the scenario in this way:
You are in a room and there are two doors. one door leads to life, one door leads to death.
Standing in the room are two people: one is a person that always, without failing, tells the truth, the other person always tells a lie. You don’t know which person is which.
You can ask only one question that both have to answer to determine the door that leads to life.
What do you ask?
Comment by TabulaRasa — April 20, 2007 @ 8:23 am
you should say
” I need you both to lie, which door should I go through ”
Because the liar is going to lie and the truthful person is going to lie because i asked him to….. or at least I hope that will work
Comment by DMS — April 20, 2007 @ 8:34 am

DMS -
he will always tell the truth. no matter what. So that won’t work.
T -
It is a logic problem that, for some reason, reminds me of Ben. And, it could be pertinent to his character.
Comment by TabulaRasa — April 20, 2007 @ 8:46 am
You would ask them this “If I asked both of you which door was safe, what would the other say?”
If right is safe, the liar is going to say the truth teller would say ‘left’ because that would be his lie.
The truth teller knows the liar would lie, so he would also say left, because he knows the liar has two options: right for truth, or left for lie.
Then you just pick the opposite door.

Doc, you are the man (great pics). I’d have to say my favorite characters are 1.Locke 2.Des 3.thetailsection’s Doc. Keep up the great work my man…
Comment by cap10tripps — April 20, 2007 @ 9:46 am
Locke’s hand is still bandaged in the two pictures with him lying down at the Others’ camp. But the picture with him above the Others’ camp has him looking at his hand without the bandage. Wonder why?
Comment by bdub — April 20, 2007 @ 9:50 am
Doc - sweet. you are, as you have proven time and time again, the man!
Comment by TabulaRasa — April 20, 2007 @ 9:51 am
*SPOILER*
Bdub, apparently the others will be visiting an ancient monument with mystical healing powers (four toed statues anybody). It probably heals Locke…
Comment by cap10tripps — April 20, 2007 @ 10:06 am
I haven’t heard of the monument with healing powers. I thought that maybe Locke started to actually believe the Others and when he broke away from them and went back to his “listening to the island” ways that the island healed his injury. Please let me know where the healing monument is if you read a spoiler somewhere.
Comment by bdub — April 20, 2007 @ 10:21 am
Bdub, Doc has listed episode descriptions for the remainder of the season in the LOST May preview spoiler post. That’s where it describes the monument in “The Brig.”
Comment by cap10tripps — April 20, 2007 @ 10:50 am
Ok, I saw that but I guess we’re just interpreting it differently. I’m skeptical that the monument itself did the healing. Hopefully we’ll find out in a couple weeks.
Comment by bdub — April 20, 2007 @ 10:59 am
Quick aside: I’ve often thought that perhaps Danielle was originally DHARMA (i.e. crew of scientists sent to this island); she has to know who/what Ben is, almost at a personal level. She knows about the purge as well?(perhaps a disease concocted by the Others, perhaps?)
Comment by Todd Anthony — April 20, 2007 @ 12:00 pm
I crossed this over in the forums but I really needed to get some feedback on it…
OK, IF I have missed this before forgive me but I just found the capture for Orientation and THE Photo.
LOOK here:
- Orientation Episode, THIS IS NOT EVEN PENNY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
http://gallery.lost-media.com/displayimage-47263.html
This is a different woman wearing a different shirt, as is Desmond, the film shows Desmond with a worn (ie worn shirt not a crisp new one never before washed) yet this photo and others show a crisp collared shirt, same color but looser. While the backgrounds are simular they are not the same. The remaining photos are PENNY PHOTOSHOPED INTO THE picture of Desmond and the other woman (wearing white) as shown here. The sun is clearly from the left of the shot yet Penny is completely lit up. While a flash would ‘fill in’ her it would also fill in him as well
- Season Two Finale- Penny’s nightstand
http://gallery.lost-media.com/displayimage-1085-1407.html
- Naomi’s copy
http://gallery.lost-media.com/displayimage-1278-81.html
- Proof other photos exist, Why else would there be a moving box labeled Photos?
http://gallery.lost-media.com/displayimage-85315.html
- the set for the shot, Desmond with another shirt, the background is not the same as the ones in the photos
http://gallery.lost-media.com/displayimage-85689.html
- instant photo developed, NOT digital, NOT negative film, - 1 shot, 1 picture, the scene only show 1 shot being made.
http://gallery.lost-media.com/displayimage-1250-648.html
- THE ONE AND ONLY PICTURE
http://gallery.lost-media.com/displayimage-1250-656.html
- The picture Desmond finds AFTER the hatch explosion
http://gallery.lost-media.com/displayimage-1250-742.html
http://gallery.lost-media.com/displayimage-1250-747.html
http://gallery.lost-media.com/displayimage-1250-751.html
You will clearly see something is not right here. I make the case the real photo is taken from a real boat.
1 - You will notice the there are no clouds in the backdrop but in the photo there is.
2 - You will notice in the pic des has there is a slight gap between Des and Penny, the one Penny has does not.
3 - Penny’s hair is very slightly different, with a curl at the front instead of a slope
4 - There is boat railing in the photo to the right of them that is NOT in the backdrop and yet is in the photo.
5 - The boats are completely different in the backdrop than what is in the picture and they even differ in the pcitures.
THERE ARE SOO MANY DIFFERENCES I could go on for days.
Lostie’s, DESMOND IS NOT time traveling in his head, his is DEFINITELY looping.
Prez, Cap10 - am I seeing things here?
Comment by thirdflr — April 20, 2007 @ 1:04 pm
That was really cool; so you think basically that he’s just replaying a certain sequence of events?
So the girl in the original photo is obviously not the Penny we know…perhaps she is the “real” Penny. I thought, before I saw the book (Catch-22) with a photo of Penny and Desmond, that this new gal Naomi was his “Penny.” He had altered time so that he was with a different gal. The Penny he knew and loved was different from his MEMORIES of Penny…kind of messed up, I know.
Comment by Todd Anthony — April 20, 2007 @ 1:18 pm
That logic problem is so simple. You just have to ask something like, “Are we in a room?” or “Are we humans?”
Comment by MrWho — April 20, 2007 @ 2:01 pm
Thirdflr, I can’t check it right now, but you are a reliable source of info. If what you say is true, what are the possibilities? Another strengthening to multiple timelines? Just different pics (this would seem too cheesey)? When you say not Penny do you mean someone completely different or her look is altered? Des was a set designer at one time. Do you think this comes into play? I’ll def be checking your links when I get home…
Comment by cap10tripps — April 20, 2007 @ 2:19 pm
wow thirdflr,
thats awesome. i didn’t see that before. there are really differences everywhere in the pictures.
i just uploaded a color corrected version of the 2×03 screencap here:

Comment by DiaR — April 20, 2007 @ 3:04 pm
dude is it me or are they in the black rock??!
Comment by Oscar — April 20, 2007 @ 4:03 pm
Im pretty sure the picture from ‘Orientation’ is different because they hadn’t yet casted a suitable woman for the role of Penny. The rest you can pretty much notch up to continuity/prop/wardrobe errors….
Comment by El_JimBob — April 20, 2007 @ 4:55 pm
I’ve just noticed that the dvd has the ‘familiar’ photo in place of the first one mentioned above. Looks like they (TPTB) probably decided to go back and fix the shot for the dvd version so that there wouldn’t be any continuity errors once they had finally cast Sonya Walger in the role of Penny.
Good stuff….
I do love the way a little thing like this sends everybody crazy tho
Comment by El_JimBob — April 20, 2007 @ 5:10 pm
Great stuff thirdflr. My best guess on the slight variations is one of two scenarios. 1. continuity errors 2. evidence of multiple loops. El Prez would certainly agree that I’m leaning toward scenario #2…
Comment by cap10tripps — April 20, 2007 @ 8:58 pm
Thirdflr..
Yeah, that’s no big deal.. they hadn’t cast Penny when they shot the first photo, then they made it a backdrop photo and changed it again. It’s well known that the photos are all different… it’s a prop error and means nothing.
Comment by Tom — April 20, 2007 @ 8:58 pm
Someone in the military explain this to me:
If you are in a helicopter would there be instances where you would were that type of flight suit and gear. That seems to me to be high altitude gear on a low altitude craft.
Could the helicopter crash and Naomi’s arrival be two separate events?
Comment by TabulaRasa — April 21, 2007 @ 4:09 am
Interesting that we have seen Locke’s right hand in a bandage and in one of the photos it shows John looking at the same hand all healed. I’m sure this is a tie in to a reveal that the island has mystical healing ability. And I’m pretty sure that is what Ben will reveal.
Comment by Lostfanatic — April 21, 2007 @ 3:33 pm
The flight suits dont matter, as they are the same if you are flying in a fixed wing(F-18) or in a rotary wing(UH-1 Huey) What was peculiar to me though, was that she jumped with a parachute… Of all the jumps I have done, I have never jumped from a rotary wing, at least not with a chute… Usually we fast rope down(a la Black hawk down) or jump into the water… but never with a chute….
Comment by themachine — April 23, 2007 @ 9:41 am
Yeah thirdflr it is definitely a production error. It has been confirmed that the part for Penny had not been cast hence the variation in the pictures.
