Ausiello’s LOST Spoiler Updates

Lost Spoilers — April 18, 2007 at 7:27 am by merlborman

TVGuide’s in-the-know Ausiello has released his weekly round of LOST spoiler scoops, and come back with some pretty hot ones at that, including the first word (that I know of) on at least one aspect of the finale.  Read on for spoiler and speculation:

On future deaths: Get ready to clutch your pearls: I’m told there will be at least five — count ‘em, five — deaths on LOST during the month of May. Meanwhile, exec producer Carlton Cuse offers this exclusive tease about the show’s two-hour, sure-to-be-blockbuster season finale on May 22: "Let’s just say the end of the season features a showdown between Jack and Locke — a showdown long anticipated and a showdown with an extremely significant outcome for the future of the castaways." Just 35 days to go!

Ah…. Carlton you sneaky little sprite of story-telling.  Was the ‘outcome for the future’ a purposefully subtle time hint, since everything since, say, Not in Portland has pointed to some sort of temporal conundrum at the core of LOST’s central story telling?  I’m not drunk enough to think that this sentence means wither Jack or Locke is going to die.

On the Rumored No Flashback Episode:
The May 2 episode won’t employ the traditional flashback technique, but there will be flashbacks. They just won’t be going back that far.

Right, as in ‘Three Minutes’ style.  I’m not sure, but I think Ausiello might be getting some of his spoilers from the fan sites these days.

On When the Game Changer Would Air:   My hunch is it’s the aforementioned May 2 episode, since it was penned by Darlton (aka Damon and Carlton).

I’ll counter that hunch and say that it is pretty obvious the Game changer begins, at the very least, with ’shocking’ information that mysterious parachutist Naomi will be bringing regarding flight 815.

On Whether we Will See Libby This Season:  I think that ship has sailed this season. But speaking of Cynthia Watros, a friend of a friend’s former roommate’s boyfriend attended a taping of The Rich Inner Life of Penelope Cloud, Watros’ new comedy pilot with Marisa Tomei, and he/she reports that Watros is playing a lesbian who once had an affair with Tomei’s character. And if that’s not enough to guarantee you a spot on the fall sked, I give up.

So much for the rumor of Charlie being led through the Jungle by the ghosts of cast members passed.
