Ausiello’s LOST Spoiler Updates
TVGuide’s in-the-know Ausiello has released his weekly round of LOST spoiler scoops, and come back with some pretty hot ones at that, including the first word (that I know of) on at least one aspect of the finale. Read on for spoiler and speculation:
On future deaths: Get ready to clutch your pearls: I’m told there will be at least five — count ‘em, five — deaths on LOST during the month of May. Meanwhile, exec producer Carlton Cuse offers this exclusive tease about the show’s two-hour, sure-to-be-blockbuster season finale on May 22: "Let’s just say the end of the season features a showdown between Jack and Locke — a showdown long anticipated and a showdown with an extremely significant outcome for the future of the castaways." Just 35 days to go!
Ah…. Carlton you sneaky little sprite of story-telling. Was the ‘outcome for the future’ a purposefully subtle time hint, since everything since, say, Not in Portland has pointed to some sort of temporal conundrum at the core of LOST’s central story telling? I’m not drunk enough to think that this sentence means wither Jack or Locke is going to die.
On the Rumored No Flashback Episode: The May 2 episode won’t employ the traditional flashback technique, but there will be flashbacks. They just won’t be going back that far.
Right, as in ‘Three Minutes’ style. I’m not sure, but I think Ausiello might be getting some of his spoilers from the fan sites these days.
On When the Game Changer Would Air: My hunch is it’s the aforementioned May 2 episode, since it was penned by Darlton (aka Damon and Carlton).
I’ll counter that hunch and say that it is pretty obvious the Game changer begins, at the very least, with ’shocking’ information that mysterious parachutist Naomi will be bringing regarding flight 815.
On Whether we Will See Libby This Season: I think that ship has sailed this season. But speaking of Cynthia Watros, a friend of a friend’s former roommate’s boyfriend attended a taping of The Rich Inner Life of Penelope Cloud, Watros’ new comedy pilot with Marisa Tomei, and he/she reports that Watros is playing a lesbian who once had an affair with Tomei’s character. And if that’s not enough to guarantee you a spot on the fall sked, I give up.
So much for the rumor of Charlie being led through the Jungle by the ghosts of cast members passed.

more like hunches and theories than actual spoilers

Now I know the producers like to confuse us with their leaked info… so what if the whole ‘Jack and Sawyer split into two different groups’ is wrong, and it’s actually Locke and Jack that split into two different groups. Jack will lead those whose sole mission is to leave the Island, and Locke leads the group who want to stay on the Island and learn from it. Perhaps some others might even jump ship to the Locke group, like Ben if he doesn’t die. And maybe some others will join Jack… others who want to leave, like Juliet Maybe?

Matt:
That’s a good point. Think of all the people who wouldn’t want to leave: Locke, Sun, Jin, Sawyer, Kate, Rose & Bernard (if they still exist on the island), and possibly Hurley. The others, Jack, Juliet and the rest of the gang have no reason to avoid the outside world. Good theory, I like it!

Doc, I wouldn’t necessarily count out the “Charlie being led by ghosts” rumor just yet. How long does it take to shoot a scene, a couple of hours? Watros could easily fly to Hawaii for a weekend to shoot a couple of takes, especially if she and Charlie don’t need to be in the shot at the same time. After all, they shot a half-season of “Friends” with Matthew Perry in rehab and he was still able to appear in every episode.
Oh and to those who doubt Rose and Bernard still exist on the island, they do. Both actors appear regularly on “ER” as well as several other shows. Remember, they are guest stars, their story isn’t as important as the main characters. They’ll be back soon.

These so called ’spoilers’ dont sound very convincing. The jack/locke showdown sounds good though.

Actually I have heard some pretty credible information about the Charlie episode that involves the ‘not-so-French-after-all’ lady that sort of blows any idea of Charlie going on a quest of any sort completely out of the water.

I’ll give you Locke, Sun, Jin, Kate, & Rose(maybe bernard for his wife) wanting to stay, but Sawyer does not want to stay on the island, and neither does hurley. Sawyer is done with prison and has whats her faces life savings back in the U.S…Hurley? He has millions back home, and i think his bad luck is going to be gone once he leaves the island(if he ever does)…

I’ve convinced myself Ben’s gonna die… the TPTB will sacrifice big, bad Ben to show how badass this new contingent is.

Neither Sawyer nor Kate want to stay on the island. Remember the end of season one. They both pulled out all the stops to get on the raft, with Sawyer taking the “prize”.

Sun would DEFINITLY want to leave the island! It would be the only way she could survive.

Why would Sun and Jin want to stay on the island?
