3.16 One of Us: Paintings and Volvos

Lost Mythology — April 17, 2007 at 9:46 pm by DavidHume

Georgia O'Keefe paintings from 3x16Juliet’s failed OB-GYN surgery in her island flashback featured some interesting paintings hanging in the operating room.  A little research revealed that both are Georgia O’Keefe paintings, an American painter who is known for close-up images of flower parts that are rendered to resemble female private parts– an appropriate theme for a fertility surgery.  Read more at the new LOSTpedia blog, which also notes a remarkable similarity between Juliet’s automobile in this episode, a Volvo, with Sawyer’s Volvo S70 from way back in Season 1.  LOST has re-used stunt cars before (for example Jin’s BMW in 3.02 was formerly Tom Brennan’s in 1.22), so it’s possible, but unlikely as these scenes did not involve stunt car work.
