Lost Spoiler Time With DocArzt
I was having this conversation with someone who, on occasion, works for the LOST crew over in Hawaii who let slip some very intriguing information. Let’s see what you can make of this.
First of all, I should say that this guy is talking on semi-second-hand info. So it could be a mince of fact and speculation, but its so damn interesting that I had to share it, and the fact that his information has been 100% correct in the past makes it worth talking about. Here’s the conversation. (I tape everything, don’t call me if your paranoid.)
…big new character thing coming up. Seen any signs of them preparing to film underground sequences as has been rumored?
"That’s a big joke around here. When Carlton said underground it was like a joke on everybody and they don’t even know it yet…"
What do you mean by that?
"Well… I don’t know really… they have a unit that is sort of the black ops of LOST right now… shooting some really high altitude stuff…"
Oh… like the people come from the mountains?
"(laughs) not exactly… see… the jokes on you now…"
I have no idea what you’re talk about. Like aerial stuff?
".. LOST has had very very few aerial shots, ever notice that? I think maybe one with the raft in season one…"
So something that can only be seen from the sky?
"… I don’t know a lot of the specifics [LIAR!] , but remember the pallet drop in season two?"
Yeah?
"Bro’ working with Grass Skirt, like full time, said it wasn’t dropped by a plane…"
So like there’s a big conveyor belt in the sky?
"(laughs)"
Dharma blimp?
"ooooooo… well… now…."
Get outta town. There is no Dharma blimp.
"(laughs)"
Oh I get it. That was the significance of having Billie Dee Williams guest… Lando… city in the clouds.
"(laughs) well… your beyond my knowledge now… all I know is there is some high altitude stuff and it involves the pallet and the flame hatch and these new people…"
People from the sky? Nutso.

that would be so sweet!

What’s weird is like…. when they were communicating with the outside world, Mikhail obviously ordered that pallet drop for them.
Comment by docarzt — April 3, 2007 @ 10:52 am
Yeah, I always hoped (thought) that the pallet was dropped from something other than a plane… Truman Show, anybody? Still though, if there is a “Land of the Clowds,” that doesn’t mean they actually have to film in the clouds… There was also an aerial shot that introduced us to the Barracks. Maybe it also has something to do with that giant Hurley bird? Maybe birds dropped the pallet? LOL
Comment by Erick — April 3, 2007 @ 10:56 am
I don’t believe there is a city in the clouds. But if the island is so undetectable, and people were dropping supplies, let alone stumbling on the island by accident (815, Henry Gale, Danielle, the black rock, etc)… oh… this just in from the right side of my brain. What if the pallet wasn’t even dropped? Okay, don’t know how that works here necessarily… but… y’know
Comment by docarzt — April 3, 2007 @ 11:02 am
Gee.. maybe this is like Bart Simpson and his tiny world of people. Maybe it IS a large truman show. Maybe they’ve been miniturized.. and some guy is dropping a tiny pallette into this world. JACOB is the guy who drops the pallets!
Comment by Timmy — April 3, 2007 @ 11:05 am
Has anyone wondered why tagged seagulls can get to the island, but Ben seems to believe that no one else, not even God, can find the island?
What about the radio antennae - maybe we’ll finally visit that location.
One of the episodes is currently casting a parachutist.

Alien antfarm alien antfarm!
Comment by docarzt — April 3, 2007 @ 11:06 am
Maybe this ties into Marsha Thomason’s “parachutist” character coming in 3:17 Catch 22……
Comment by duckyislost — April 3, 2007 @ 11:08 am
When I first heard the “underground” thing a few months ago, I thought it meant hidden agenda, not literally under the ground. So We’ll soon see I suppose if I’m right.
On a side note, my current theory is that Marsha Thomason’s “parachutist” character is Jennifer Gale.
Comment by Jeff — April 3, 2007 @ 11:36 am
What if the island is underground somehow??? I have no idea how this would work at all, but it seems like the joke could go many different ways. Anything they do sounds like it will be a pretty awesome ending run for the show this year.
Comment by kyle — April 3, 2007 @ 11:37 am
A hollow earth scenario? A city in the skies? Uh…can’t think of too much else. This guy’s must be joking a fair deal.
Comment by Richard Lennox — April 3, 2007 @ 11:38 am
It’s really easy to blow something like this completely out of proportion, obviously. All we can take away from it is that there is going to be some aerial stuff. But my question is, why is this island that is so hard to find and leave so easy for all these people like parachute girl (let’s assume she’s part of this mess), Desmond, Danielle, the Black Rock, and Henry Gale to just trip on? And if the island can’t be found without the sophisticated beacons, how can parachute girl even be there? I’ll scream if she is there to find Henry…
Comment by docarzt — April 3, 2007 @ 11:51 am
I love the fact that the new girl is black and coming via parachute, so she must be looking for her black husband who crashed on the island in his hot air balloon. I’m not sure what stereotype should be offended here: Balloonists, African Americans or parachutists. LOL!
I think the fact that she is British screams Penelope Widmore and company. Henry’s hot air balloon was sponsored by Widmore Industries, as well as Mr Clucks..If a plane wasn’t dropping the supplies, then the balloon could have been, under the guise of a balloon race around the world..
Any theory that the area they were excavating on Alcatraz was going to be used for a landing strip? Last minute the chick had to bail out and ends up in the jungle??
Comment by El Prez — April 3, 2007 @ 12:03 pm
I always thought the underground was where people like Krista took an obvious joke prior to enter 77 on the podcast. But the tunnels under the security paremeter has me guessing.. Underground makes more sense than the sky…
Comment by timmy — April 3, 2007 @ 12:38 pm
Definatly something with the sky, if you go to dark ufo’s spoiler page… for one episode “catch 22″ the new mystery character is called parachutist or something to that nature. I’m wondering if any of this is a connection to the real henry gale.
Between those two bits of information I totally believe this,

The only other ariel shot I can recall was the pullback from Othertown as the plane broke up over the island in Tale of Two Cities, and possibly when Bernard was stuck in the tree in 48 days. I would guess the lack of ariel shots in the past was either cost or more likely an artistic choice. Rarely do we see the island from perspectives that the characters aren

I’m glad I’m not the only one who finds the assumption that because she’s black, she must be Henry Gale’s wife, racist. To me she sounded like someone that works for Penny but if she jumps from the sky then she could be Dharma.
Comment by starofthelid — April 3, 2007 @ 2:15 pm
I’m terribly offended that I would be called racist for assuming that an actress parachuting out of the sky would be looking for the real Henry Gale, especially considering a recent spoiler that said the real HG may have had something to do with Juliet’s sister. It’s especially ironic considering the mixed race nature of my own family. So thanks for making me feel like a pariah on a page I love and visit daily by expressing my own opinion. To be fair I’ve never heard of or seen what the actress looks like before. I made the assumption based on PARACHUTE because he came in a BALLOON.
Comment by Jeff — April 3, 2007 @ 2:38 pm
Henry Gale came in a Widmore Industry balloon. If the hollow earth theories from S1 and Lemuria, Mu etc start again, I mean havent we gotten beyond that?
Comment by tonilost — April 3, 2007 @ 2:47 pm
I remember last year’s finale’s foilers regarding a Dharma space ship crashing and an astronaut came out.
Maybe this is that!
Comment by Joe King — April 3, 2007 @ 3:50 pm
if not airplane, how about Catapult or Trebuchet? resupply from another part of the island?
Comment by tasty ankles — April 3, 2007 @ 7:41 pm
Jeff- you aren’t a pariah…You are a balloonistic pre-judger. All parachutists are created equal and don’t like to be compared to balloonists. Any fool can ride in a balloon….it takes real fortitude to jump from a perfectly good airplane…
And to Tasty Ankles: that’s the most interesting and unique name I have ever seen on this board…
Comment by El Prez — April 3, 2007 @ 8:04 pm
Jeff….you are not a racist (and yes, I’m black). Don’t people “assume” a flashback belongs to either Sun or Jin as soon as they see asian people on LOST? Give me a break! A theory is a theory. Thanks for you thoughts Jeff!
Comment by Kia — April 3, 2007 @ 9:07 pm
I know it’s not really related
but I found something that don’t add up, in expose,
in this episode, there is a flashback of something happend 32 day ago, where paulo gets in the pearl, and hiddes the martioshcka, and then we sea ben and juliet talk, and they watch jack inside the hatch,
so we might assume that this talk happend before fenry came to the hatch,
but before that, the pearl station was covered by the plane, the plane that even Echo which we all agree he was strong couldn’t move by himself, so how paulo, and tom, ben & juliet manages to do that? and when ben and juliet enter they also talk about the pearl as if there is no plane on the enterence.
another thing is the room seen on the camera, we see jack sitting on something and a small box, but in last season we sew that the room being watched is the kitchen with the big table in the middle,
so what I’m trying to say, is to ask you what you think about the things I mentioned and what does it all mean?
Comment by KatzMan — April 4, 2007 @ 12:34 am
I’m going with the Hotel California theory of island access… “You can check in anytime you like, but you can never leave.”
It is somehow hidden from the world, but it is possible to stumble upon it. Tough as hell to leave once you’re there. For all we know they will find the seagull with the message on the other side of the island sometime next season.
Comment by chemicallcrow — April 4, 2007 @ 5:54 am
Katzman - Ben and Juliet were talking about moving the plane over the entrance to the Pearl hatch. Most viewers assumed that the plane had fallen there when Boone was in the plane and it fell. Perhaps it fell close to the hatch entrance but didn’t cover it. When Juliet and Ben were leaving, Ben said they needed to move the plane over the entrance. Also, who says there was just one camera or camera angle in the Swan hatch?
Comment by aslanscubs — April 4, 2007 @ 6:18 am
Jeff- you are not a racist, that is absurd that someone would think that.
To continue what aslanscubs said: I agree with all that you mentioned. My question is the potential plot hole we hear about from time to time: the sky turning purple AFTER Ben had kidnapped Jack. This past week clearly showed that Ben had always wanted Jack for the surgery, so we now know that is why he was kidnapping him for, fine. So what is up with Tom’s response to Jack about “ever since the sky turned purple…” in response to Jack questioning why they didn’t just bring someone on the island for surgery.
Comment by cekma — April 4, 2007 @ 6:48 am
ABC has revised their press release and now credits Marsha Thomason’s character as “Naomi”.
Comment by duckyislost — April 4, 2007 @ 9:10 am
Bet they re did the credits cause the way it wa sbefore gave away to much. It def has something to do with either penny, real henry gale - perhaps he had something to do with penny, or some other place in the sky which I would like to believe is not real.
Comment by cekma — April 4, 2007 @ 1:23 pm
cekma - When Tom said “ever since the sky turned purple…” he could have been referring to a lot of things like - ‘The submarine didn’t work’ or ‘Ben’s been madly in love with you’. Remember that he did have a surgeon by the name of Ethan but we all know that his life on the island went the shape of the pear. Ben said that the submarine was an ‘illusion’ so the sub could have been out of action ever since the newest others arrived on the island and I don’t think we know when that was.
Comment by Ben's Wheelchair — April 5, 2007 @ 4:52 am
Sorry for the late update on this, but after discussing this with by brudda on the beach since publishing this he has found out that the mumblings he was discussing involved the Parachutist. The comments involving it being a rouse were from when Carlton mentioned the underground people. Folks on the set were laughing about it because it was such a red herring and that in fact new characters would be coming from the sky, not underground.
