LOST Magazine Scan’s Reveal Season Three Twist
Okay, maybe not the twist itself, but at least WHO the twist is going to be centered around at the end of LOST season three. It’s been pretty common knowledge that the ‘kicker’ for this season is codenamed ‘The Snake in the Mailbox’. Darlton said that they broke from the Jewish bread tradition because the twist was just so huge, and so frightening, that it needed a name that better approximated its payoff, thus ‘The Snake in the Mailbox’. Then I am perusing the scans from the latest official LOST magazine over at DarkUFO’s spoiler blog when low and behold, what is mentioned by Edward Kitsis but ‘The Snake in the Mailbox.’ For all the spoilerish inferences that popped through my brain…

The snake in the mailbox will be Juliet. You heard it here first! You can’t trust that chick. The first time Jack sees her she’s wearing a low cut top and offering him a grilled cheese. If that’s not a woman trying to pull the wool over some poor dudes eyes than I don’t know what is. However, I also believe that her and Tom are planning a power struggle with Ben and they’re using Jack as a pawn. Also: Justin Timberlake is releasing a song about this episode; the lyrics are as follows:
“step one..cut a hole in ‘da box, step two..put ‘da snake in ‘da box!….”

that artcile on buddy TV was practically worthless. Could have been said in one sentence, did not need a whole article.

Jack is Jacob…only he doesn’t know it yet.

Snake in the Mailbox
Snake = Cobra (from Expose’)
Mailbox = Magic Box
Cobra was a bad guy disguised as leshay the club owner
If Jack walks among them but is not one of them… could he have been the “snake” that came out of the perverbial box. Could Jack be Jacob in disguise?

This is my first season to see the episodes as they air, so I am not familiar with the codenames for previous twists. Would someone mind telling me what some of the previous codenames were. I am interested to see if they are very telling.

they weren’t telling at all…i think last season’s was called “the chala”… i might have spelled it wrong. it’s a traditional jewish bread that means “big let down” in hebrew.

Wow, Jack is involved in the big twist. What a shocker. Who saw that coming?
Note the sarcasm.

Jack actually had three flashbacks in the first season. I’ll withold judgement about The Snake in the Mailbox centering about him until after I see it.

Jack is the mailbox. And Tom is the snake.
Comment by Ryan Seacrest — April 2, 2007 @ 7:49 pm
I really really hope “snake in the mailbox” means that my man Billy Dee is going to manifest on the Island as the Cobra and totally blaxsploit hisself’ some womens.

Hahahhhaha, Ryan Seacrest !

Ive heard there will be a third group of people on the island that have apparently been trapped underground by the “monster” and once the losties go far enough to destroy it they will be free and that could be the snake in the mailbox. Something that seems safe and then hiding something unexpected. And then again i could be horribly wrong.

They should also tell us what kind of snake is in the mailbox because if its just a garden snake then we dont have much to worry about but there could also be a king cobra in the mailbox and that wouldnt be good

Oh gawd, TPTB are doing it again. They’re cranking up the hype machine, the whole uber-lame “Best. episode. game. changer. awesome. EVAH” bullshit that drives me nuts. They’re their own worst enemies amongst the hard-core fans sometimes–they crank up the hype, the episode doesn’t change the face of entertainment as we know it and then fans spend weeks bitching that the episode isn’t all that.

I haven’t read this because i don’t want to and don’t get me wrong i love thetailsection and everthing Dr. Artz does and i haven’t read it but if it is what i think it is don;t you think revealing the end of season twists is going a little far on spoilers.

Has any character had a birthday yet on the show??
Comment by Cheex223 — April 13, 2007 @ 7:29 am
I’m hoping the mystery from Season 1 that has been promised to be solved is either
A) the “sickness” that Rousseau mentioned, and the bones in the cave that Locke found, or
B) the monster
The producers really need to give up something huge after all the frustration they’ve put us through
