Catching up With Javi
Those of you who have read TheTailsection for a long time know that Javier Grillo-Marxuach is one of Doc’s few ‘incorruptibles’ in the LOST universe. Quite simply, the man did no wrong and I was always happy to pimp his extracurricular activities by my own volition. Why? Because Javi entertains at a high level of excellence in every medium he chooses to apply his writing virtuosity to. And, I’m told he is a hell of a lounge singer too. Okay, I made that up. But I wouldn’t be surprised.
So the exciting news is that Javi has agreed to an interview here with TheTailsection to bring us up to date on what is going with his career post- LOST. As usual, my opportunity to ask questions is your opportunity to ask questions, so please use the comments system to plug any question you might about Javi’s current comic and TV projects. We’re all LOST fans of course, and many of you , I’m sure, are Javi fans like me, so let’s balance that and try to avoid questions about LOST’s mythology. Okay, I might allow one…. "Now that you don’t work for LOST anymore, will you give us the secrets?"… I’ll even answer that one for Javi…. "Uh, no." Of course, he might surprise us all and say "purgatory", but haven’t we traveled that road long enough? Seriously though, in composing the questions let’s think of this in terms of catching up with what one of our favorite LOST writers is up to since leaving the show. Don’t expect Javi to know the significance of Ben’s refrigerator contents rearranging from scene to scene.

I’d like to know that if after having the experience of being a writer on a successful television show has led Javi to wanting to executive produce in the future.

I’d like to know if he’d return to Lost, because he’s sorely needed!!!

OMG I CAN’T BELIEVE SOMEONE ELSE NOTICED THE STUFF IN THE FRIDGE. I totally rewound my DV-R because I thought I was crazy. First, there’s milk on the left and orange juice in the back right. Then when the scen eof Ben putting the chicken back in the fridge comes, there’s no more mile and some container of red juice AND the OJ is in the wrong spot (if i remember correctly)! Also the canned goods and fruit were totally different between the scenes. DIFFERENT TIME LINES TOTALLY! j/k (continuity error; maybe one of the scenes that got destroyed at the airport?)

I can’t take credit for that. Doc Jensen received some reader mail and mentioned it to me. But honestly, it is the type of prop error you would expect to see. It’s all part of the illusion.

If we can only ask one LOST question, I’d make it: “How much of what you see unfolding on the show now was established when you were writing there?”
Aside from that, I get the impression he doesn’t write for any given show for a long time. Ask him if he’s restless, always looking for a new project, or if it’s just the luck of the draw.

The rearranging fridge contents is from A Series of Unfortunate Events!

Javi, will The Lost Experience (or something similar to keep the fans busy) return on the hiatus?

I’m a fan of lost, but don’t get into who the writers are, that being said can i get someone to phoneticaly spell out his last name.
Obviously i get the javier, but the Grillo-Marxauch is a little trickier.

ohh I thought it was “Marx-wak”
thanks for the clarification, guys.
on with my questions:
Did you feel like there were some cliffhangers that you could have finished after season 2 ended?
Were you privy(as early as season 2) to the events happening now in season 3?
How do you feel about the events happening in season 3?
