New LOST Podcast Summary 3/26
New LOST Podcast with mucho answers and intriguing hints! Is there really a Box? Read on for the high points and visit lost.abc.com to listen for yourself! Of course if you decide to listen, you’ll miss out on all my transgressions… but I digress.
- Damon indicates that the term ‘box’ is a metaphor. He also mentions Kate’s horse, Sayid’s cat, and Jack’s dad in the same breath as things that have come from the box. The conversation quickly turns to naked men.
- We will be seeing Locke within the next few weeks, but not in relation to the Cooper/Box story. That seems to be quite a few weeks away.
- ‘The Others’ will be leaving Otherville at some point this season.
- Danielle will be taking her time in approaching Alex.
- Expose’ will be the Jump the Shark episode. Cuse plugs televisionwithoutpity, passes over TheTailsection completely. (bum)
- Carlton shares a birthday with William Shatner. Damon shares a birthday with Barbara Streisand. I share a birthday with John Malkovich. My birthday buddy is the coolest.
- The Others are indeed the type of people who would string a guy from a tree. Don’t let their neck twisting, kidnapping, brainwashing room facade fool you into thinking they are really nice guys.
- Patchy and or Mrs. Klugh may be appearing again, alive. (did not specify real time or flashback)
- Yet another Volkswagen will appear on the island. We may see how the bus crashed.
- An email question pointed out that in Danielle’s maps Alcatraz can be seen! Damon and Carlton confirm that, yes, they knew in season one that the other island existed!
- The original plan for Henry Gale was for him to escape after three episodes. The character of Ben, the leader of the others, existed from the beginning, the merger of the characters happened later.

Hmmm, Lots to think about here.
Sayid’s cat looked nothing like the one from his flashback. But the other manifestations were “dead” on. I wonder if they are sometimes just general manifestations that invoke memories.

Notice they specifically did NOT mention Yemi… Since it is all but a foregone conclusion in the fan community (insofar as foregone conclusions actually happen regarding “Lost” theories…) that Yemi was a manifestation of Smokie, it makes sense that they specifically didn’t mention Yemi b/c that would basically give away the “box” as a metaphor for Smokie. (Which is a very plausible theory, but one they clearly don’t want to confirm or deny at this point.)

I call bull on the 2nd Island being in the map.
Take a look at http://www.getaplate.com/lost/lostmap.jpg

Sorry, danceman - they’re pretty much unmistakable and in the correct proportions. Despite the atolls/shoals to the north of each smaller island being a question mark, I spotted them both right after ‘EMFH’. My post to LOST Spoilers:
‘As early as season one when Sayid discovered it in Solitary. They knew about at least one other smaller island even then.’
This ‘revelation’ is quite vindicating - although I didn’t get a lot of naysayers when putting it out there right after “Every Man For Himself” - it depended upon realizing that, in order to recognize Hydratraz on Rousseau’s map, one had to shift their perspective from south looking north, and the main crash site, to a north-looking-south vista, and there it was, clear as day (although probably hidden from view before the Swan implosion) along with that other island, its purpose - if any - yet to be determined. Again, I’m fairly certain this is another reason why the Others intercepted Michael’s raft precisely where they did lest its occupants literally run into Hydratraz…..one more supposition suggesting that the EMF cloak extended to it as well.

I share a birthday with Matthew Fox. Are we really twin brothers from different mothers? I need Merl in here to do a “crossing”. The word “crossing” is definitely becoming my new fave….I was “crossing” the other day when I was eating yogurt and my cousin called from 2000 miles away and guess what he was eating??..that’s right..Oatmeal. But we were both EATING…freaky….

Sorry, thedanceman, that map shows at least two smaller islands, possibly as many as seven, depending if the smaller ones are reefs or shoals. As Ogam5 says, it clearly shows the main island as seen in approach from the other side of the alcatraz/smaller islands.

In the last episode Ben told Locke I’m going to show you what came out of it (refering to the box) and then we see Cooper. I think Cooper did come out of the box, but does that mean that it’s not him?

- We will be seeing Locke within the next few weeks
Yes… in Expose… Flashbacks
- My birthday buddy is the coolest.
No.. Shatner is the coolest.
- Patchy and or Mrs. Klugh may be appearing again, alive. (did not specify real time or flashback)
In the Juliet Flashback of how she came to the Island. Patchy is listed as appearing in that episode. It makes sense.
- Yet another Volkswagen will appear on the island. We may see how the bus crashed.
As a matter of fact.. “ROGER” and the Van will be in a Flashback epsiode in early May. I think that they’ll find a Dharma person on the island in the coming weeks, and we’ll see their flashback, with the degroots, Dharma in it’s heyday… the Van… etc.
Could this character be a degroot? Rumor is, we’ll soon encounter another female character who has a repeating role that is NOT an other or a crash survivor.
- An email question pointed out that in Danielle’s maps Alcatraz can be seen! Damon and Carlton confirm that, yes, they knew in season one that the other island existed!
I didn’t see it on the map.. I’m sure they knew it existed.. but that map was from the side, not from the top(why?…)which is really only good for elevation comparisons.

Does anyone buy the following theory? The crash survivors are plugged into a matrix, of sorts. This explains Locke’s ability to walk again and Desmond’s seeming ability to time travel? Yes, no, maybe?

Maybe they mean this overhead map of the island http://www.blackrock.nl/images/stori…s%20-%2001.gif and by sayids shoulder here http://www.blackrock.nl/images/stori…y%20-%2001.gif
because ben said it was only about the size of alcatraz.

Good question, Tom, about why the side approach (as opposed to an overhead perspective)- I think that with this map, we’re supposed to be seeing Danielle and the French research team’s view of the island as it approached from the north - we never saw what the island looked like from that angle…..until this season.
