Lost - Tricia Tanaka Is Dead Spoilers

February 21st looks to be a very interesting date for LOST fans when "Tricia Tanaka is Dead" takes to the air.  We’ve known for a while that Cheech Marin plays Hurley’s dad in the episode and there is a portion which takes place when Hurley was younger, a lot of recent info indicates, however, that this might now bee the case.  Read on for more info on LOST - Tricia Tanaka is Dead

  From what we see in the promo pics, it appears that Hurley’s dad is alive and well, and apparently found his way out of the woodwork once Hurley came into his megabucks, which has dead-beat written all over it.  Personally I am frothing for some Jorge Garcia/Cheech Marin action… this is going to be classic.  I’ve always thought Hurley’s mom was a little abrasive on her own, but the chemistry just looks fantastic.  Cannot wait.

Now for the episode itself, ABC has offered up the following on medianet:

  "Tricia Tanaka Is Dead" - Hurley’s discovery of an old, wrecked car on the island leads him on a mission of hope not only for himself, but for a fellow survivor in need of some faith. Meanwhile, Kate and Sawyer reunite with their fellow castaways, but Kate is still torn about leaving Jack behind with "The Others," on "Lost," WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 28 (10:00-11:00 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network.

Guest starring are Mira Furlan as Danielle Rousseau, Rodrigo Santoro as Paulo, Kiele Sanchez as Nikki, Lillian Hurst as Carmen Reyes, Billy Ray Gallion as Randy, Cheech Marin as David Reyes, Caden Waidyatilleka as young Hurley, Suzanne Krull as Lynn Karnoff and Sung Hi Lee as Tricia Tanaka.

Now, the answer to the question ‘is young Hurley also big?’ can be answered, here is a pic of Caden Waidyatilleka from ‘Oliver’.

Pudgy?  Perhaps.  Hurley size?  No.  So clearly we are looking for an event in Hurley’s past that will explain his ‘issues’ with food.  As far as Tricia Tanaka, we still don’t know who she is in a character sense.  The actress is 37 year old Sung Hi Lee, so she is a bit older than Hurley, but ultra ultra HOT!

Even money is on Trica being someone who was killed in the infamous deck collapse,  but who can say for sure at this point?  The island side of the plot involves Hurley drafting Charlie into a dangerous escapade,  retrieving a VW bus full of beer,  thinking if he can get Charlie to confront his fears over Desmond’s death prediction he might stop moping around.

Lot’s of interesting stuff culminating in this episode,  Kate and Sawyer make it back to the island, so  it should be neat to see Kate immediately go about rallying Jack’s rescue party and the reaction to that.  Also, Karl now being a new beach person, you have to wonder if he is a mole or not.  Remember back in the beginning, he was asking Sawyer about what the people were like on the beach.  He was either contemplating escaping to live amongst them, or he knew he was going there.   Cool stuff, either way.
