Lost Returning Early?
The rumor mill says ABC is desperate to get LOST back early. This on the heels of the cancellation of LOST fill-in "Day Break" in favor of re-runs of George Lopez and According to Jim. The shows which will permanently (for how long?) occupy LOST’s 9:00pm slow, ‘In Case of Emergency’ and ‘Knights of Prosperity’ are suffering from premature buzz-kill having been pretty much universally slaughtered on their screener outings.
ABC has been taking a beatings on Wednesdays, this is true, and pulling LOST back early would certainly generate the type of buzz that increased viewer-ship is made of. The question is, will they do it? As usually, my emails to ABC media relations have gone unanswered (they don’t talk to us ‘blogs’), so for now my guess is as good as yours. But an interesting rumor, none the less.

That would be great!!!
Until then, enjoy this Weird Al/LOST mash up!

Oh man, that would rock so much, and the excitement if they did would totally bring in massive ratings. Now, they would most likely have to break their “No Repeats” promise, but hey I’d take an early return over no repeats in a heart beat. I am in such deep withdrawals right now…

uhh, what’s going on with the “how lost will end” poll? I thought it was supposed to end last Friday?

That would totally suck.. Think of how many lost fans out there will miss out because abc said they will not air until Feb.. Many will come back in Feb to watch only to find out they had missed a bunch of episodes.. Oh man what a joke. They would lose a ton of loyal viewers.

I hope LOST will come back early! I miss it so much! I didn’t know that Daybreak got cancelled though. Not that I’m a fan of it (I watch it because with LOST gone I have nothing else to watch, and also for the LOST moments) but I would rather watch Daybreak than stupid reruns of George Lopez and According to Jim.

I so hope it comes back early…even just a few new episodes, like 2 a month……please that would be a nice Christmas Present!

while that would be great if they could bring the show back earlier than expected… i wouldn’t want to trade the “no repeat” style in exchange for it to start earlier. i would want it all to be continuous for 17 weeks like they promised us.
and too bad for day break… i never watched it. that might have something to do with why they cancelled it… LOL!

i dont see how they could do that with their production schedule (the reason we’re waiting….) unless they were gonna show repeats. the only way i wouldnt mind them showing repeats is if they started with s3e1 and only repeated the miniseries, in order, leading up to episode 7. basically play the entire season 3 straight through.

They don’t have to show repeats… If LOST started back up at the beginning of January they could show their little recap episode (which they’re gonna anyway) then maybe pop in two bye weeks with plenty of warning.. “LOST isn’t on next week, but we have a terrific President’s Day Donnie and Marie sing-a-long show for you..” I might even watch Day Break if it alternated with LOST over the holidays… (and they still played some Cindy-esque LOST moments, of course.) Anything but 13 stinkin weeks of nothing.

I am ALL FOR Lost coming back early, but Daybreak is actually a good show! I need to find out how it ends. They better post the un-aired episodes on the abc site.

Day Break Cancelled! That really sucks. I really don’t care if Lost comes back early…it will mean that the master plan of 17 straight episodes would be nixed. ABC now will have a bigger problem structuring their Wed Nights. Who knows what will happen to the Nine…

so does this mean Lost will return at 9:00 instead of 10:00?

Michael: I doubt it. But, I have no clue.

I bet that since we are getting wind of this it’s going to happen. I mean, it proves that the execs are at least talking about it which means they are ready for a change. It will be a bit of a hassle for em but it doesn’t matter because ratings = money.

Love Lost though I do, I wouldn’t want to see it return early. The production schedule is strained enough as it is. When TPTB don’t have as much time to create as they need, the first thing to suffer is the quality of the episodes. But then, I think the rumor’s bunk, anyway.

the should bring it back arly and then push it back to 10pm after American Idol starts. that way it’ll be king for a small while and generate some good buzz before American Idol begins it’s destruction of every show on TV tues. and wed. night. just a thought….
