The Shape of Tails to Come
Today we will be launching a new design, and before I throw the switch, I’d like to get your reaction to it:
include_once "c:\\\\Inetpub\\wwwroot\\thetailsection.com\\httpdocs\\polls\\booth.php";
echo $php_poll->poll_process(53);
?>
echo $php_poll->poll_process(53);
?>

Keep up the good work doc

I like it a lot - except for one huge concern, Doc - the readability will decrease DRAMATICALLY, given that it appears to be a broken background below the header…..if you want to see (much less clearly, however) an example of this, the new TVGuide.com design is a prime example - it is SO much more difficult to read now, and it’s my opinion that lighter lettering such as now presently used on thetailsection is much more effective than black on a lighter - even solid - background. So, to recap: really like the ‘Ben’s station’ look of the header, hate the rest for the reasons stated above…..

Is there anyway you can put up a screenshot of what it would look like with writing on it like an article or something? But it looks pretty cool.

He’s probably starving for something to write about like the rest of us.

I loved that random changing headers with similar style. Please do something like that again.
Maybe changing images within the monitor.

I think it’s dynamic. Doc Artz’s designs have always been on the cutting edge of usability/ease on the eyes and this is no different. I don’t think he’d put text on that background but rather use flat colored tables as we are reading on right now. The only thing is I can’t tell what the image on the TV set is supposed to be, but either it’s intentional or I’m an idiot. As for darkUFO, guy works damn hard for little credit (as does every webmaster, really) and if he wants a break, it’s best he takes it in the hiatus when visitorship massively drops as well. Besides, it’ll give you all a chance to check out some of the many other excellent LOST sites. My faves are Station Zero, Humpty’s, Lost-Media, The Lost Blog and Lost Pedia. Cheers.

Great design, DocArzt! Reminds me of Fallout, one of my favorite computer games in the past!
