Episode 11 (or 12) Revealed
Info coming in from ‘Super Sock’ reveals a little about an upcoming flashback.
Yes, folks, it’s true. Nikki and Paulo do get a flashback episode. The interesting thing is the flashback portion takes place ON THE ISLAND. We will see what Nikki and Paulo were up to while the gang was off on an adventure. I’m interested in seeing this from the other point of view; particularly since we assume nothing interesting was happen.

I guess this would be that episode Damon and Carlton said they were gonna write a couple podcasts ago, where we see what the rest of the survivors were doing while Jack and Co. were cavorting with the monster in crazy jungle adventures (paraphrased). I think it would work better if it didn’t focus exclusively on Nikki and Paolo. Try to understand, Lost writers, that we don’t know them well enough to give a shit about them, and so it’s not like we’d mind if you got a couple extra extras for the tale. Plus, I can’t imagine an entire episode from one couple’s POV would be terribly interesting. It’s the different people, not the change in perspective.

Ugh a flashback episode with *shudders* them??? I have never had 2 new characters on a TV show that have annoyed me more… *shudders*

I think this is actually a good idea. There are a lot of things that we don’t know about them and don’t you think it’d be better to actually learn it than to assume they’re characters with no importance whatsoever? We don’t even know if they were together pre-crash or if they’re like Claire and Charlie and got together on-island. And now the creators are motivated to give some information about them before the flashback so we actually care when it comes around, so yeah. Overall, I’m really excited about this episode.

In the script for “Further Instructions,” Nikki tells Claire that she and Paolo hadn’t had sex “since the crash.” Which leads me to believe that they were together before the island. And which also leads me to believe that an island flashback episode centered around the two of them is just going to be a bunch of whining about how Paolo can’t get it up. I guess we’ll find out. I still say this is a mistake and that a “The Other 48 Days”-type flashback should have a large ensemble.

I thought that the “O48D-esque” would be other-centric and some time before or after the nikki/paulo flashback, which would be more like 3 Minutes or Maternity Leave.

Well, I know what my ‘worst’ episode of the season will be. Wink Wink. But seriously, I cannot stand them when they have a 2 minute scene. Let alone a whole episode!!! I never liked Anna Lucia, (even after we saw what her background was like) but compaired to Nikki and Paulo, she doesn’t look so bad.

I think it’s gonna be a good episode. Hopefully we’ll see Sullivan, Artz, Scott, Steve, Shannon, Boone and Ethan (and maybe briefly the Marshall also). I’m looking forward to this episode, should give that extra perspective from the characters that aren’t allowed into the core group.
I actually enjoyed Artz’s rant to Hurley in Exodus about not being part of the “A team”, and if this episode is handled well, It could really show our Lostaways from another perspective.

hmmm okay… well.. I actually like the actress playing Nikki, Kiele Sanchez is okay in my book… and the Nikki character does have potential, paulo on the other hand… im still very irritated that those 2 characters just where there… and that they get a backstory and LIBBY dont, who was more loveable and likeable then these 2 characters is also a little off…. on the other hand I do want to know what they where doing all this time… and lets hope shannon will be back in this episode…

Now we FINALLY get more information about cousin Oliver! Hot damn! Who cares about Marcia anyway?

The biggest problem has been that these characters have been introduced with all the subtlety of a 10-lb sledgehammer to the toe.
Comment by Brady — November 6, 2006 @ 3:29 pm
Say WHAT, Brady? You mean that suddenly giving “extras” lines of dialogue and having them yell at Hurley out of the blue isn’t subtle?

BRING LIBBY BACK!

This actually could be a blessing in disguise to see all the old characters we got to know and love…
as much as I can’t stand them though… (Nikki’s ok - Paulo is awful!)

Hey,
I actually thought Nikki was sort of worse than that Paulo guy. They haven’t had many scenes, but her face at that line about the tvs in the room… ouch, it was terrible. And she intended to be smarter than Locke & co., which can’t be. Locke rules.
But then, again, they have been in the show for like 3 minutes in total, so I think we should give them a try.
Besides, even if they are good actors (I read in a blog that Paulo is a very good actor in his country and stuff), the writers totally **** off with a horrible intro for new characters - so, they are supposed to be there in the island all the time, but we’ve never seen them… and suddenly they start showing and the girl is the smartest (why didn`t she help before then!) and the boy just doesn’t care about what is happening, like he was not lost for a while in an island… Come on, they could have written something better. Unless the idea was to make the viewers hate them…

Apparently, Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse said that they thought people would think they were gonna die in ‘The Vost of Living’.
Also, I have to agree with you - Locke does rule…
