What is Ben SAYING!?
Did you hear the bizarre language Ben broke into at the funeral last night? I’ve cleaned up and isolated a little piece. It’s not backwards… does anybody understand the language? Sounds a bit like “why did he send her outside” in English, but that aint it…

Sounds like Latin to me,
but I can’t tell what words

Remember the Statue? And that some people were already on the island?
Ben may be one of the natives, but from what I understand, Julia is NOT from the island.

Point of the above being…. could this be his native tongue?

Sounds to me like Ben is just making a eulogy in english saying “from the moment she set foot on this island…”

SOLVED! From the moment she set foot on this island! Good job KP!

I love the fact that there were natives on the Island. Gives a whole new view of the place, it’s what makes me think there are other Others. If you catch my drift? People/Groups more evil and more menacing than the Others we know. As for Ben, he may have been on the Island all his life. Maybe he knows more and knows the true terrors the idland provides. Because of this, he has become their leader…Wow! I’m getting into this a bit too much Lost storyline guessing!

Ben is saying “From the moment she set foot on this island”

It sounds to me like he is saying “Why did you set foot on this island?” or “Why would you set foot on this island?”

Yeah, definitely sounds like “from the moment she set foot on this island” to me.
Which brings to light the fact that - whether Ben is a native or not - they aren’t ALL native. Some of them either came on purpose or were converted to Otherishness.
I still think Sun rocks for shooting her though. That girl was BUGGING me.

where did we get the idea that ben is a native? or that there are natives? i probably just missed something just said…i’ll read it again.

We got the idea of him being a native from his claim he lived on the island his entire life.

He is saying “Set her on fire”.
Thanks,

It sounded like ‘why would you set foot on this island?’

I just rewatched the whole funeral scene. Ben speaks in English the whole time.
And from your clip: “From the moment she set foot on this island”

I’m going to go along with everyone saying that Ben said “From the moment she set foot on this island,”
Do you think that she was like our beloved survivors, and like they were attempting to do to Jack, persuaded that they were good and became one of them?

I still can’t believe they killed off Trixie that quickly (Deadwood fans will understand my comment)

Sounds like “Why would you set foot on this island of the dam” then it cuts out. So probably “why would you set foot on this island of the dammed?” And I slowed it down to hear it properly.

Correction. its “From the moment she set foot on this island of the dam” ten cuts out. It sounded clearer when I listened to the .avi file of the episode.
