LOST Season Three DeathWatch

Lost News — October 10, 2006 at 8:10 pm by docarzt

With the report that a death will come sometime before episode thirteen, (See Grim Reaper Stalking LOST Set), I decided to make a top ten list.  From least likely to most likely:

10.  Jack — Maybe ten is a reach, as Matthew Fox does have a blossoming movie career.  Dissapear, maybe.  Die?  Nah.  If there is a chance of a big screen LOST finale, as there seems to be, Fox will want to be involved.

9. Desmond — C’mon, he’s just getting started!  It would be a little too tragic to let Desmond buy it before Penny finds the island.

8.  Locke — LOST without Locke is like Star Wars (the prequels) without Obi-Wan.  Just aint gonna happen.  Besides,  with season three there is the indication that Locke will again find destiny waiting on the island.

7. Charlie — Too obvious.  Charlie has not developed at a good enough clip.  He’s sort of a wall-flower.  To kill off Charlie would just be anti-climatic.

6. Claire — Again,  would it send shock-waves through the LOST community?  Not really.

5. Hurley — We’re getting warmer.  I could actually see this happen.  Why?  Talk about igniting a fan fire-storm!  Hurley’s death would bring people out of the wood-works.  I can see the petitions now.

4. Danielle — Yes, she is not a regular.  But the death doesn’t have to be a regular.  And the fact that she has been there long enough to know more than she is letting on is just too frustrating for fans.  What better way to keep us baited then cut that line of info off before it starts to spill?

3. Sawyer — Kate is going to make a choice.  If it is Sawyer, there could be tragic circumstance to follow.  This is LOST, if a relationship forms it’s not going to be without some sort of tragedy.

2. Kate — In real life Evangaline struggles with fame and has found love on the cast.  It’s concievable she would ASK to be let go to take her purse of LOST earnings and sit on the side line preparing a love nest while her other half continues to rake in big tv bucks.

1. Sayid — Yup.  I call Sayid.  I’ve called Sayid before, and I’m calling him again.  Why?  His story is told.  Why more?  Because he gives an advantage to the losties.  Why even more?  Naveen Andrews is not the type of actor who takes well to type-casting,  and his much publicized personal struggles are mostly linked to distance issues.  No LOST, no Hawaii, no distance issues.  Further more, Andrews,  like Fox, has landed some pretty cool big screen roles for the upcoming season:  first alongside Jodi Foster,  then in the Robert Rodriguez lensed "Grind House", co-directed by Quentin Tarantino.
