Season Three Spoiler Wrap Up
It’s that time of year again! Production has begun on Season Three of LOST and the spoilers have begun to flow in every shape, size, color, and smell you can imagine! And as usual, we have the most intriguing of the lot right here at TheTailsection. (Note, for regular die-hard surfers some of this might be old news.)
So without further ado… here is what we know:
Season Three has a new format and tone! The Dharma grey of season two will be replaced with a lighter, more action-adventure oriented vibe say the producers. Less mythology does not mean fewer answers though; we are definitely going to find out what the others are after, how Locke became paralyzed, why Jack got his tattoos, how Dharma relates to the island, as well as a little bit about the history of the place (maybe a little bit about four toed statues?)
The format change will be great for some, intolerable for others. The season will be broken into two pods, the first starting October 4th and running for six straight episodes; the second starting THIRTEEN-WEEKS later will run to the end of the season with NO repeats. The first six will be a mini-season with both a self contained story arc and developments that play out over the rest of the season.
Episode One is titled “A Tale of Two Cities”. Think you’re going to get a good look at the Other’s “home”? Think again! Jack, Kate and Sawyer find themselves being held captive in prison cells that remind them of their lives off the island. Creepy. Insiders say this is very reminiscent of the television show “The Prisoner”. Meanwhile, Bernard and Charlie try to re-establish leadership at the base camp while Rose begins to suspect that Charlie is keeping a secret about the hatch. This episode is a Kate centric flashback.
Episode Two is titled “Further instructions” Not much is known about this one other than it is Claire centric and features some hippies. Perhaps former members of “Geronimo-Jackson”?
New characters this season include a mysterious possible-other and Jack love interest named Juliet played by Elizabeth Mitchell; Nikki played by Kiele Sanchez, and man of mystery Rodrigo Santoro who is known as the Brazilin Tom Cruise (which means he’s hot, not a psychopathic scientologist) who American audiences might know as the stud Laura Linney melted for in “Love Actually”.
Survivor Types. Yes Desmond, Locke, and Eko survived! All of them will return extremely changed by their ordeal. During the first six episodes of the new season Locke will get his bushmen groove back; he will find himself again. This renewed Locke will join forces with Sayid to set out on a rescue mission to save Jack, Kate, and Sawyer.
Penny Widmore and her high-tech crew of adventurers will be looking for the island throughout season three; we are also going to learn a little more about what that scene meant.
There will be flashbacks exploring the others and their history as well as their relation to Dharma.
The question of who is the father of Sun’s baby WILL be a factor in Season Three.
Maggie Grace (Shannon) has stated she will appear in season three in a characters flashback.
After Jack’s love interests are redirected to the mysterious Juliet, Kate will finally commit herself to Sawyer.
The producers have said something in episode six of the arc will be blow the audiences minds, to the extent that some will say the show has “Jumped The Shark”. What is this plot twist? How could it possible polarize fans. Is there a murmer out there of what this may be? The answer is yes. And here, I have to warn you that the information is a little on the shady side but the prevailing rumor is that Jack will decide to stay with the others and his decision will cost another lost-a-way their life. A turn to the dark-side for Dr. Jack? That would certainly be a lot to swallow.

jack and kate have to get together. there are sooo many jate fans out there and if its kate and sawyer nobody will watch the show anymore. The only reason everybody watches lost is because of kate and jack, not all the other mumbo- jumbo. Kate and jack rule!

Naw, I like Sawyer and Kate! Kate’s too crazy for Jake. I’m really looking forward to this season, the first episode was a little slow, but I thought the beginning was pretty interesting!!

I think Jack and Kate should get together, but I can’t say that it will happen. It appears that, at least for the first part of the third season, there will be a Skate relationship. The only question is- will it last? Do they actually love each other? Or will the fourth episode reveal that Kate’s true feelings lie with Jack? For the time being, that’s the only spoiler I’d like to find out- who Kate chooses.
I detest the rumours about Jack and Juliet hooking up. She is an Other and he is so NOT into her! Yuck. I wouldn’t be surprised if she died, and even less surprised if Jack was the one who killed her. (Muahahaha!!!) Although, I have heard rumours that Jack will stay with the Others for some reason or other, so there might be a chance of bonding between the two….I seriously hope there won’t be any sparks between those two….I would be so incredibly disappointed if that were the case.
I’m not against the Skaters, I’m just a personal Jate fan. I am, however, against Jacket. This whole relationship “square” might get confusing….

For me the best couple is Kate & Sawyer … Why? , because with him Kate doesn’t have to pretend . With Jack all she wanted was his approval … I think in season one she liked Jack form the beginning… he was good , kind , he helped everybody… she wanted someone like him in her life. But with the time she found herself more connected to Sawyer…she started to care about him whether she liked it or not. The episode “What Kate did” from season two was so clear… she had feelings for Sawyer but she didn’t allow herself much further because of all the story with Wayne…
After that , all the rest of the season they were very united… Sawyer gave her all the support, company and trust that she needed and Jack denied to give her.
With that as background… season three continued with all the mixed emotions… their obviously physical attraction and their state of prisonment… the feeling that in any minute you may die is an accelerator for relationships!
I see it like Jack represents her “father” and Sawyer represents Wayne at some levels… she needs to understand that she doesn’t need anyone but her for making her feel a good person. Maybe she has done it and that sets her free for getting somewhere with Sawyer.
The heart wants what the heart wants.

i think jack is the most annoying character on the whole show(other than michael eww im glad hes gone)! hes way to serious and thinks he knows everything and he NEVER lets anyone else lead.I am definately for Kate and Sawyer, they have fun together and have alot more in common and can be real with eachother and create way more drama for the show…plus sawyer and kate are both hot. Jack looks like Adam Sandler. enough said.

Ahem. Some of you, are utterly ridiculous.
Listen, Jack and Kate belong together.
They both know it deep down, but they’re just acting foolishly. Kate thinks she doesn’t deserve Jack and he’s too good for her and Sawyer is more on her “level.” But she’s wrong. And Jack is too proud to tell Kate how he really feels because he’s been hurt before and he is scared. There, I have pshycoanalysized two fictional characters, and soon enough the writers of Lost will prove to you all that I’m correct.
I’m sorry, I don’t have anything against Sawyer but the chemistry is just no where near that of Kate and Jack. Kate really loves Jack, I’m telling you! You can feel it. Oh, and I absolutely despise Juliet. I really hope some takes a knife to her throat and it looks like Sayid just might. But, knowing this show they’ll let her remain living and ruining everyone’s happiness for a bit longer.
Jate forever. ♥

I am sooo xcited to see Sawyer and Kate getting together in season three! I know that kate cares for both Jack and Sawyer, and likes them both, but her heart really goes to sawyer. Jack is the man that Kate wants to love cause he makes her feel good (she thinks he’s the “good guy”), he is a natural leader, and cause she wants his approval (like that good comment above about jack being like her “father”, not Wayne). However, Sawyer is the man that she doesn’t want to love, but truly does! They complete each other, they don’t have to pretend around each other, and there is nothing but “what’s real” between them. The love, the emotions, it’s pure between them. Kate should FINALLY committ to Sawyer and listen to her heart!! My friends and I used to be jate fans, but after really watching Kate and Sawyer’s chemistry, we’ve completely changed our minds! I jus had to get that off my chest:)
