STOP THE PRESSES — DESMOND NOMINATED

Lost Headlines — July 7, 2006 at 2:12 pm by docarzt

Okay… my dis of the Emmy awards yesterday was completely and utterly premature.  In fact one actor did get nomninated!  None other than Henry Ian Cusick for best guest actor in a drama show for LOST!

He faces extremely stiff competition in the likes of James Woods whose appearance on ER was heralded as the highlight of his career!  (Hey,  I was impressed!)

But without a doubt,  Henry’s inventive, dodgy, and nuanced performance as the paranoid, (and later heroic), scotsman Desmond is extremely worthy of this award.  Henry’s background shows that he has always brought a unique and intense personality to every character he’s played.  When you watch his other films and television appearances, you can really see how he treats each character as an individual; just an extraordinary display of skill.  I’ve always said that Desmond and John Locke were my favorite characters, and it is definitely the actors behind them that make them so enjoyable to watch!  That said,  I felt robbed when Terry O’Quinn didn’t win last year for his supporting nod,  let’s hope the emmy people really know a thing or two about acting and give this rising star the proper consideration!  Go Henry!
