LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Elizabeth Mitchell has joined the cast of ABC’s hit drama "Lost" as a possible new love interest for Matthew Fox’s character, sources said.

Earlier this week, Brazilian actor Rodrigo Santoro signed on to co-star on the show, which begins its third season in the fall.

Mitchell next will be seen opposite Tim Allen in the feature "The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause," which opens November 3. Her other credits include HBO’s "Gia," in which she played Angelina Jolie’s lover, and a recurring role on "ER."

Yet another casting bombshell (literally!) has landed!  Natasha Henstridge will be strutting her stuff on LOST in season three!    Henstridge is known to sci-fi fans as the buff alien from "Species", but was more recently attached to the critically acclaimed, but axed none-the-less, "Commander In Chief" where she held down the recurring role of Jayne Murra.

While there is no confirmation on the part she will be playing, Ms. Henstridge will likely be stepping into the part of the character described as "30’s with leadership qualities".  Rumor has it this is a character coming forward from the background survivors to stake a claim as boss-of-the-beach in the absence of Jack and company.

Another character, Juliet, is apparently an "other" working to gain the trust of Jack at the Others hideaway.

Calm down everybody.  JJ leaving Disney does not mean any major changes in the production of LOST.  As a matter of fact, by Co-Writing one episode of Season Three and Directing another JJ is going to be more involved then he has for the last season and a half!  If you’ve visited for a while you know I like to harp on this point:  JJ was midstream in the impetus, clearly influenced the direction of the show, but was increasingly and dramatically peripheral after the pilot until he reached the point of casual association.  (Granted he still has input and his name is all over it, he just hasn’t been "involved")

While nobody is going to try to extinguish JJ’s contribution, he definitely put it on the map,  the show has been Damon Lindelof & Carlton Cuse’s baby for some time.  One of them leaves, I’m panicking!

For those who don’t know, Jamie Silberhartz is the actress playing Rachel Blake who appeared at the standing room only LOST panel this weekend at Comic-Con to berate the boys for their alliance with the nefarious Hanso Foundation.

I was a little concerned for her when I first heard about it,  but when you watch the video you’ll note that Jamie delivers a fine piece of live theater and gets a HUGE pop fom the audience.  Well done.
