No clue what the story behind this is, but recent promo pics for LOST — One Of Them reveal a different prop photo of Kate. Clearly, if the show is taking place somewhere around 2001, as a growing contingent believes, and Kate would have been much younger around the time of Desert Storm than as pictured here. This would probably explain the need to swap the pics.
