It’s All in the Details — Long Con First Look

Lost News — February 8, 2006 at 7:28 pm by docarzt

Some of the finer points for the real theorists out there:

Detail #1: (The plot twist aforementioned in recent spoilers) Kate’s mom, Diane, serves Sawyer and a business associate at the diner at which she works. (Note: It is apparently not the same diner where Kate meets with her mother. The decor of the diner and Diane’s nametag are different.–Courtesy of Sledgeweb’s careful viewing)

Detail #2: As Sawyer comes upon Locke alphabetizing books (though it looked much more like John was searching them for further film strip clips), Locke is shaking a copy of [The Occurrence] Owl Creek Bridge:

Short story by Ambrose Bierce, published in 1891 in Tales of Soldiers and Civilians, a collection that in 1898 was revised, enlarged, and retitled In the Midst of Life. The narrative concerns the final thoughts of a Southern planter as he is being hanged by Union soldiers. In the brief period between the tightening of the noose and the actual breaking of his neck, the man imagines his escape. — Courtesy of the Merriam-Webster Encyclopedia of Literature.

Detail #3: Bad Twin is formally introduced into the canon. For those who aren’t in the know, check out this listing.
